@@oldschoolzone5711 consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy. The chance of a single instance of unprotected sex actually resulting in pregnancy is actually very low. The fact is abortion is not mostly used as 1st line birth control but a last resort and I don't think majority of people would argue it should never be 1st line birth control. But the fact remains no birth control is 100% effective and the idea of abstinence is a false belief that never has worked.
If consenting to sex is consent to pregnancy then walking across a street in a crosswalk is consent to being hit by a car.
Also my question still remains there are going to be many many unwanted children and forcing those children into the care of people who have clearly told us they can't or won't care for the child is an injustice. So what do you suggest be done with them. Because these children are also at extreme risk compared to other children of abuse and neglect, hunger, developmental delays, learning disabilities, mental health issues, behavioral issues like attachment and opposition to authority. And we know the foster system is highly links to the prison system. Aka a pipeline.
Also we are going to many more disabled children who would not have been born if given the opportunity to end the pregnancy when the severity of the child's condition became known. So who is going to care for these children and for them when they possibly survive to adulthood.
So again is your door open or where do we send them and who do we give custody to then? Cause remember most parents in the US looking to adopt don't actually qualify thus why the go over seas.

When the people spoke up against what occured and other leaders in the state made actions to over turn the decision it was fought by those who passed it.
Unless you are a woman seeking abortion it doesn't impact you so why anyone wants a say over someone elses body being used as essentially life support is borderline insanity. Bc we can't even claim it's about potential people as even women carrying dead babies can't have the removed and are getting sick and hurt mentally and physically because of it. Prolife supports have made it very clear it's about punishing women and the offspring of these unwanted and unplanned pregnancies. And that's clear when studies have shown forcing a woman to carry and birth a child has the same impact mentally as torture. And when we look at statistics regarding children of unplanned pregnancies and in the system.
