    As much as I relate to the esoteric, gnostic oenophilia, I only watch to find out what your Tinder date wants. The geekiest and most entertaining wine channel. Period. Some special work here, Troy. Keep it up!

    My favorite one yet! I of course love all the references (especially Supernatural), but I also like that you took into account things people have previously commented. It’s great you are listening to your audience. Tons of information, consideration, and, of course, laughs. I look forward to watching these every week!

    Enjoyed again Troy! Great to see an Aussie pick get up 😊, not only that but amazed to see William Downie on this wine list! (I’m told the heir apparent to Bass Phillip) Coincidentally, I just bought a couple of bottles of 2022 Cathedral this Saturday - maybe I should report in on how they are 😆. (Also a gentle note that it’s a hard ‘G’ in Gippsland, which seems the next hot ticket for Aussie Pinot Noir).

    Love the videos mate, but FYI Gippsland is pronounced with a hard G and was named after the 9th governor of New South Wales, Sir George Gipps. And while Downie is based in Gippsland and is most famous for his wines from there, the Cathedral is a blend of grapes from the Mornington Peninsula and the King Valley. Still, it's very cool that a producer from my area is on the list of a restaurant on the other side of the world!

    Another fantastic video - loving all of them. As a non-billionaire, I love the 3 / $500 category. And if you’d ever have time to point to your favorite alternatives in the 1 / 150 and 3 / 500 categories - that would be super fun too. Cheers.

    Another fantastic episode really enjoyed this one! Maybe Enoteca Pinchiorri next 🤔😎 they for sure have a book of a wine list and cellar would love to see what you choose/find!
    Anyhow I saw those Riesling and had a feeling it was go time haha but loved seeing the Bolliger ( based off my previous story ) and the Henery Jayer !😱
    What’s really cool is the mention of the Krug Clos d’Ambonnay I still need to try one eventually because long story short I used Krug as my single vineyard champagne to “serve” during my exam and she asked me everything under sun and knowing about Mesnil and Abonnay probably passed me since my service could of been better admittedly😬 right before the exam I recently had a 95 Clos de mesnil I believe so I had researched and learned everything about their wines and was like wow this saved my ass lol

    • @TroysTastingRoom
      @TroysTastingRoom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Enoteca is on the list! Still trying to find a copy of their wine list, though… I “served” Comte de Champagne on my exam. Would have much preferred Krug for both service and pre-exam enjoyment though!

    I recently ate at The Grey and Common Restaurant in Savannah. The Common restaurant recently won an award for their wine list and The Grey has an okay selection to me. I was wondering if you could do a video on one of or both of those restaurants despite them not having maybe as big of a selection or being as famous. Thank you for your time and consideration!

    The wine list is nothing really. Couse most people going to geranium will choose their wine parring menu. Its rarely people buy a bottle unless they a ultra rich.

    • @TroysTastingRoom
      @TroysTastingRoom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you make a valid point, in my experience about half of guests enjoying wine opt into the pairings. Geranium’s pairings are reasonably priced across the 4 tiers, but some guests opt into a lower priced bottle versus pairings or by the glass. Additionally, with some many international selections on the list, some guests (particularly repeat guests) May prefer to explore the options in the cellar beyond the pairing selections. Every wine program and dining room is different and I’m applying anecdotal experience to a restaurant outside of my area of knowledge (which is partly the point of the series. But you are absolutely right, the “crazy” bottles in the cellar are there for the guests you’re referencing. A 200 page wine list and affiliated cellar is a lot of work for window dressing to a wine pairings, so I have to imagine they’re selling at least a few bottles!
