Thank you Nina for appreciating this wonderful performance from Queen Regine. All artists have someone they want to emulate when starting out. For both Regine and her contemporary Lara Fabian, that someone was Barbra Steisand. Regine has sung many of Barbra's songs and learnt the techniques of dynamics and story telling from her. I totally agree with a previous comment that you should review Regine doing the Barry Manilow medley.

The 1993 Music and Me version then 2003 centex
OMG the lyrics of that song puts you in a limbo between pessimism and optimism. It's about a person trapped between the reality (they can't be together) and hope (that there's sometime and somewhere for both of them). Regine interpreted that song really well by showing the dynamic push and pull between being hopeful and pessimistic, but she ended that song woth such strong belt that you'll believe there is indeed a sometime and somewhere for her and someone she loves.
The song later became her own love story. As if art imitated life.
Stell Ajero of SB19 also covered this song in same key as regine.

hi there! I've always watched your reaction videos particularly on Regine's songs. I'd like to highlight her vibrant musicality as you have pointed out, particularly starting at 3:21. the lyrics of that part actually "sometime AND somewhere." While other singers who have sung this before Regine would have sung that part in just one note, Regine adds her flair in that particular one word ("and"), further showcasing not only her musical ability, but her expertise in interpreting every song given to her. Just wanted to share... kudos to your reaction vids and may you have more viewers (and subscribers) in the near future! :)

Oh nooo. That made me emotional as well. Regine really is someone that needs to be studied. Not only for her technique, but for her evolution and longevity as well. When these new breed of singers sing it just feels a bit studied, unlike legends like Regine, Lea, and Lani who had to create from nothing. True artists indeed

Regine is also an actress in movies and TV and she usually sings the soundtrack to almost all her movies. I personally think acting just elevated her performances even more.

And yeah, my experience was a mixed of awe and being immersed to the story. Like she just did not just showcase her vocal prowess but she applied it appropriately and effectively
Thank you for watching this Nina. This is my favorite Regine live performance ever in her entire career. It's old but gold. No matter how many amazing singers interpret this song, they're all great. But I have such high standards for this song because of her. You watch it with your eyes closed, the storystelling still reflects in her voice alone. You watch it with open eyes, you can see her subtle facial gestures here, the more you will feel the subject's longing for that "secret love".
