Funnily enough he was brought on as a guest on Vancouver CTV morning live when he was promoting his book, a couple days before that Bell had gone on a firing spree, included in that was local sportscaster Perry Solkowski, when Jay showed up during his book interview the first thing he said when he got on camera was “Hey where’s Perry?”
The people in the background laughing is just awesome. CTV had no clue what they were in for when they brought Jay in. It's amazing that Onrait and O'Toole manage to keep it together every morning
"I mean if y- ... if this isn't quality morning TV, I don't know what is. I don't know what is, Bev." And then he just looks down with 20 seconds of epic Onrait nerd shame-face. You can tell they're all half-delirious from the long hours of Olympic coverage. Poking fun at your own lame remotes on live tv is hilarious. He probably got in trouble for this.
I was so lucky to actually see this segment live. It was around 8:30AM here on the east coast which would have been 5:30AM in Vancouver. It’s no wonder why that club was so dead

The whole demotion bit him and Dan did after on SC was jokes.

One of the female reporters was talking about beaver tails (the dessert) and the woman said people she talked to about them thought she meant real beavers. She looked square in the camera and said "we love our beavers!!! We never touch our beavers!!!" They cut back to the studio and he had the same face and went mmmmmmm....I'm going to get fired, I'm going to get fired... It was absolutely hilarious.
