I am always looking for older books, in really nice shape at a steal of a price. I kinda don't care what it is as long as its a bargain and in decent shape and I don't own it. I feel like its a score every time.
@@pop-comics You find a lot of golden age in really great condition but you do this for a living also are there just more places to find comics in New York? I'm sure there is. I'm near San Francisco so not as big as the East coast I think thats why its more limited here.
That HEDY DEVINE witthe cop and the striped skirt. I've seen that cover before!! Is that a double for you? Interesting seeing the off-register one....!!
Had to double check, so about 8 months Ago Lunch Money Comics picked one up at an estate sale and then sold it to Comic Collector Geek who also did a video.
The Golden Age books are great. Its also more fun to collect them because it truly is a hunt to find them in the first place and then to find them at a price you think is good in a condition that is acceptable.
Yeah my first thought was mold, but it does not smell and their are no signs of water damage. I think it was left open on that page for a very long time and dirt and or soot accumulated on the surface. At least that is what it looks like to me, mold usually seems to be more permeable into the paper, this feels more like a nasty dust layer.
Those Superman comics were amazing that's the main character for DC that I collect. Also Alf is Marvel comics? I never knew that I thought he was a stand alone character
Marvel Licensed Alf to make comics based on the popular TV show and cartoon. Happened often back then. And yeah Bronze age Superman books are great, especially love the Nick Cardy covers.
THanks for the bibliographic info on HEDY> Lovely books but too $$ for the blood!! Did I tell you I'm working on FF? Debating either the Masterwork HCs or M COLLECTOR"s Item....
Hey Sean, back watching from the top!! Saw a video didcussing the oldest comic shoppes by stae. They said that Philly had the oldest shop opening in 1976. I'm trying to confirm when Eides opened. I thought I had something to confirm an earlier opening, but now I can't locate it!! Hate when that happens (Unfortunatly it happens often...!!
I asked AI, not sure its correct but it said 1977 is when Eides opened. It says "The Million Year Picnic" in Cambridge, Massachusetts is the oldest opening in 1974
Heads up: the uncle scrooge gladstone with the black cover and scrooge facing off with another duck is a semi key. first Rosa art at disney. should be worth like $10 or $15.
I believe I am. If I have any already I would pull out the duplicates to sell. But the Old Charlton stuff is kinda hard to find in general so I am always hunting.
still making my way slowly thru this vid :D it's awesome, .... but I'm wondering if you can remember the name of the artist who made that variant that ,i think w talked about one time, that looked like the movie poster for Barbarella, i think it was a vampirella book but i cant find a listing for it anywhere now. do you remember which book im talking about? or the artist? its been driving me crazy for a couple of days now
Hrm that is a tough one to remember lol I will do some research because I forgot off the top of my head and Ai was not a ton of help. So far I see DEADPOOL Merc With a Mouth #8 Suydam variant. I will see if I can find more.

Not a double for me. I think Comic Collector Geek got one a few months ago, maybe you saw in on his channel?

Thanks for the video! Lots of nice stuff
Thanks for hanging out at the premiere! I had fun
Watch out that Hedy comic - that could have been black mold. Be careful.
Great video, you know a lot about comics. I’ve learned a lot from watching.

You are very welcome. I bet if you do a little hunting you can find the Masterworks for $10. I occasionally pick them up when I see them cheap.
I had the same problem with MARVEL PREMIERE (DR. Strange)!! Ended up w/ SO MANY DOUBLES trying to upgrade issue #4!!!
Yeah its easy to duplicate great issues if you keep finding them for a good price.
gracias ustedes son unos amores

Probably lol Talking about Garden State fest or you have something else in mind?

Thanks for the heads up, I did not realize that when I got it which is super cool.
Are you keeping the Faro #1 metal? I'm interested. As well for 2 Phantoms and Ghost of Dr Graves.
I believe I am. If I have any already I would pull out the duplicates to sell. But the Old Charlton stuff is kinda hard to find in general so I am always hunting.
Oh and the Phoenix Cosplay, if that is the one you are talking about I am definitely holding onto.
@@pop-comics ok, just wanted to check. Tyndall is one of my favorite artists and I love metal covers. Thanks
