    Wow, 1989. My girlfriend and I got our first apartment, I bought Her a Cougar XR7 turbo coupe and I bought My first cell phone (truck/car mounted-still have it) from Radio Shack Tandy and Sprint was the carrier. You could carry the phone around by putting on the battery pack, removing/unplugging the receiver base and placing in a shoulder bag and plugging in the cord from the handset and screwing on the portable antenna.

    What ive noticed a lot about 80s and 90s commercial, especially before the late 90s, they were really calming and relaxing like suave compared to todays boring same comercials

    love the 80s... I was born in Dec 1978... and I can say, I love these old commercials! Some I remember, some I don't... but all are nostalgic. These clips take me back to my youth, and I wish they wouldn't. Because nothing else does the trick and transports me back the way these videos do. They remind me of a time when my life didn't matter, and everything didn't have a place on social media.
    Damn... life was good. Millenials have no idea....

    This is an odd reminder that I didn’t watch TV at all in 1989. I was 18/19, on my own, and wasn’t interested in TV enough to buy one. I remember all the products and have watched all the shows being promoted since. Watch Roseanne pretty regularly now on COSI.

      I hated going into Sears as a kid. It seemed dark and boring compared to Montgomery Ward or Woolworths. Only Sears catalog was good.
      Kmart was my JAAAM!🚨 (pretend it's blue)

Was near where Radio Shack and Kay-Bee Toys were in the mall, briefly was where Tilt set up shop in the 90s, had a game section, a computer section, an Olan Mills, and for me it had an Icee Stand. A freaking Icee stand in a Sears. No other location I went to as a kid had one.

      @@NightSprinter - Yeah....yours was nice. Our two were heavy on appliances, workman's clothes. Ugly older people (80s-90s ) clothes. The toy sections sucked. I don't remember a record section. We did have a little dinette shop that served great hot dogs and half smokes. That's it.

    I did not get a chance to enjoy the 1980s because I was a baby (born in late 1985). But, watching 80's commercials, TV shows, movies, and definitely music take me back to that great decade. Even the early 1990's was awesome too.

    As I always put it: 1989, when the 80s cheese started to stink. I was 15, permed and layered hair that was a hideous shade of copper penny orange thanks to Super Sun In & a hair dryer. Braces. Frosty pink lipstick. Roller skating at The Palace to Depeche Mode's Strange Love. Taking selfies with my Polaroid, lol.

    It’s crazy to think that this pandemic could have just as easily happened back then too, or in the 70s, 90s, 2000s, etc- It’s only by chance that it happened now instead of back then.
    But the factors that allowed it to spread over the whole Earth were in place back then. People could still fly all over the world
