Man seeing this guide from 9 month ago, the mobs is literally far-far more easier. On the current patch, every green chest can be populated by 3 or 4 humanoid mobs that will give you a headache avoiding the mechanic they had.
I know this is a skill dependent thing, but generally, what weapons should I avoid fighting against when using nature staffs? And what weapons do nature staffs heavily counters?

I don't think it is smaller, are you playing on widescreen or a different resolution by chance? They haven't touched the AoE coverage in awhile! I am glad you enjoyed the video!😁
This is my number 1 activity I do in the Black zone to avoid an attempt to jump me with by 5+ people every hour in the outlands! The outlands are still doable for sure, it is just the avalonian roads are an easier place for solo/small groups as the portals can control the flow of groups in certain areas! I hope this helps!😁

I use Sterling for the cleanse when gankers try to get a grab and it has saved me many times! Nothing wrong with Thetford for the extra dmg, it just might pull extra mobs that you may not wanted to have aggro on yet! I hope this answers your question!😁
I would not recommend attempting blue chests solo with this build! As for the Nature staff, if it is a solo player, they will have a very hard time killing you as long as you heal yourself correctly! I fought in the video with this build so yes it can work! I will always recommend taking fights in the road with care as they are players between 1000 IP up to 1800 IP so you need to always be wary of these players as they can be scary when they are higher item power! I hope this clears things up!😎
Very rare for the avalonian roads unless you have a yellow portal connector! Black zone outlands will bring the whole zerg to kill you its the craziest thing!😂

Yes, if mobs aggro off screen you can hear them and that means someone is near you for sure!😁
I use boltcasters , it take 5 min to clear t6 chests easy. , Same setup.
boltcasters are one of the best PvE clearing weapons! They are insane!

Why using Sterling Cape not Thetford for more dmg?
I use Sterling for the cleanse when gankers try to get a grab and it has saved me many times! Nothing wrong with Thetford for the extra dmg, it just might pull extra mobs that you may not wanted to have aggro on yet!
