We need the feet per second speed of the pellets to adjust for the error in regulator setting and gauge readings. Even having the hammer spring adjustment all the way out doesn't mean all rifles will shoot alike. I would like another video just covering pellet speeds from your setting's. Thanks for the video!
Back when I was shooting competition Short Range Bench-rest I’d be shooting little bitty 5 shot groups and people would ask “ How fast I was shooting them”. I’d reply I don’t know, don’t care. I tune for the smallest groups I can shoot. I don’t care if it’s going 3000fps or 1500fps as long as it’s shooting 1/4” 5 shot groups at 100 yards. My first year I took home a lot of packs and trophies. Everyone thought I was crazy for not knowing how fast they were going. I remember one match where the wind was blowing left to right at about 25-30 mph and people were shooting 1” to 4” groups. Won that match as I think my biggest group was like 1.1” and my smallest was like a 1/4”.
Thanks for this, just got my avenger .25 cal last week and was unsure what to set regulator at...mine out of the box is about 2400 so i'm going to leave it there for now. Only pellets I have shot through it are the Hades and they're fantastic so far.
Nice review and shooting . I have the wood version and nonetheless it's a tack driver. I didn't tune anything out of the box,but I'm not shooting or plan on shooting past 40 yards with mine for pesting and hunting. It seems to shoot with much more exspensive air rifles. Astonishingly!
Very informative videos! In addition to your patience and tuning skills, you're a darn good shot. no way I could get .5" groups at 50 yards with a 9X. Makes me wonder if that Avenger could get even smaller groups with a 16X and solid bench rest gear.
James, I just came across this video. I have recently turned my PCP and did not want to consider my chrony speed. I went for accuracy and wanted to see if I could get different weight pellets and slugs hitting at the same zero. I was successful getting 3 different weights hitting at 1 zero. I suspect BC made that possible. Thanks for reafirming that accuracy and downrange performance is key.
You have good videos but all this time I thought that these were old videos but just noticed the date and either the camera makes the videos look old or the lighting.
I have .22 avenger. Right now I'm shooting gamo redfire 15.4 gr. I was getting 3/4" groups a 25 yards. I thought the pellets were trash like the ruger .22 pellets, But I lowered reg to 1800 PSI from 2100PSI and slowly turned hammer all the way to max (around 5 rotations) from 3 rotations where it was previously. Now its 1/4 or less at 25 yards considering I only use bipod. I'm not sure the speed but I know its accurate and not a pushover for small game. I'd rather have accuracy than FPE, but both if I can. I also have Edgun matador R5M . 25 cal but that's another story.
I remember you did a comparison of the Guantlet vs Avenger on STKO. I like the Guantlet stock way better though. I kNow they're not a direct fit as far as interchangeability, but has anyone seen or know what it would take to fit an Avenger in a Guantlet stock?
Good night. Yesterday i empty my .25 Avenger because i want to reset the regulator, once empty i turned clockwise the regulator screw, and then turned 1/4 c clock wise. I tried to fill ir with scuba but the rifle has a leak bye the regulator screw. Somebody knows if it's just a o'ring damaged? Thanks
Sir i have one question do you think the air venturi avenger be able to keep up with the do competition's target shooting with the high end pcp air rifles?, because of the grouping that you were getting with it at that distance because were i go shooting at the range there are air rifles and rimfire rifles shooting their targets at 50 metres and 100 metres , as i looked at the targets that the rimfire shoots their grouping lot bigger than yours grouping sir
Good luck on that one. I also placed a order with them and got the run around only to get a email 2 weeks latter saying there was out of stock when I called before placing the order to make sure they had it in stock and was told yes.
i gave you a thumbs up because i appreciate your hard work and dedication to air gunning. now for the but, you should put up clean targets and display the results side by side with clear labeling. thank you
Hell can't find any pellets especially .25 all sold out. Something going on. First Ammo now pellets. This is just crazy. Never in my life and that's a long one have I seen anything like this. Do have some cheapo pellets but nothing I want to use.
@@wvairgunssportsman8886 it shouldnt, may affect velocity though, hammer spring just allows the valve to stay open more at that pressure which could use more air than needed
I'm starting to get bored. I'm going to have to go out past 100 yards maybe. It's been a fun, entertaining, and educational journey figuring out my rifles. They're so dependable an do what I ask of them. I think this is why people end up with 10 different launchers, lol.
What a good yard to zero this rifle most of shorting is about 70 yards and under but most at about 30-50 yards. The pellets I’m running are the fx 25.39g in 25cal thanks

I just watched a TH-cam video by shooter 1721 and your Avenger grouped better than his 25 cal FX dreamline. Keep your great videos coming.
That was a Quick Group my Dreamline shoots 5/8" 5 shot groups @100 yards. But the Avenger is impressive.
Thank you for not wearing a wife beater.
Yes he said he had turn hammer spring all the way out which is a light setting all the way in is Max

wow! wow! wow! Good shootin!
I've been pretty impressed with the .177 Air Arms Diabolo Field Heavies in my launchers.
The air arms rules in my book they come washed already
Thanks for your Time
Being new at PCP makes a lot of sense

Nice work! Glad to see someone going to the facts! Velocity doesn't matter if you can't hit your target!
Thank you!
Did you get the adapter and silencer from Donnie FL 4 the adapter helps with barrel alignment
I'm also a fan of turning the reg down. For accuracy as stated, but also a higher shot count as well.
yep target practice vs hunting

Makes sense Higher pressure pellet probably skips Rifling at the start and deforms the skirt
Hey man great informative video! Just purchased my .25 Avenger, where do you have the hammer set in these videos?
nice lesson about pellet length to expansion in barrel to accurate flight vs pressure...Thank you.

Nice shooting. Avenger is a tack driver.
Is this gun pretty quiet or as quiet as a Marauder in 25
How many shots per fill do you get at 2400 psi?

alot of work
How do you “read rifling” ?
And how do you tell how much the pellet compressed with different pressure?
What all I needed

What air pump are you using to refill your Venturi?
GXCS1 or Yong Heng

Where did you order your gun from I ordered one from pyramid Air that was supposed to be in a month ago and still haven't heard anything
pyrimidair ...ordered and recieved 3 days later

Have you priced targets lately?

I have avenger bullpup .25. reg at 2600 1/4 hs. 25g jsb dont group untill psi in gun drops to 2900 psi. then it is a tack driver. What caused that?
that would be your hammer spring not being in harmony with your reg. youve got too much or too little hammer.

Oh I don't want to get into a big debate on this. Just threw the whole video I felt like I was shaking my head disagreeing .
The groups speak for themselves, no?
@@darrelmorehouse6965 you're right the groups do speak for themselves! And they're saying something different
