      It depends where in Paris you go. And please don’t forget that France and Paris are the most visited county and city in the world. So you are more likely to run into tourists than Parisians. We tend to stick to our inner hidden areas. So you probably have us confused with tourists or expats.

    I agree/disagree. I live in France and dressing like this whilst chic can also be a little boring and blend into the crowd. I love classic pieces but try to add interest in my accessories. For ie instead of a stupidly expensive Hermes handbag I have one from a local designer that has been hand embroidered. Everyone always comments on it! Remember that getting dressed is fun and shows a bit who you are as well so do add elements that you love (be it bright colours, patterns or items of personal significance)

    • @LucrativeElegance
      @LucrativeElegance  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I loved your comment! You're absolutely right, fashion is a form of personal expression and doesn't have to be monotonous. Adding unique accessories, like your hand-embroidered bag from a local designer, is a fantastic way to bring originality to your look. Classic pieces are the perfect canvas for you to play with elements that reflect your personality. Fashion is, above all, a way to show the world who you are. Keep it up! ✨

      @elizabethcumberbatch227: that’s a talent you have my dear. Not everyone can do what you can do or create. People depend on what others create to clothe and accessorise. Some go too far & depend on the fashions of the day which doesn’t last long. It’s being able to recycle things so you can wear them over and over again that also matters. Keep doing what you are doing & please pass on your talents and ideas to others so it benefits more than just yourself. That’s what will be commendable.

      @@LucrativeElegance I think it came from my mother. She grew up in the war years and made her own clothes. People forget that the British had a hard time after WW2 and were still using coupons to buy things. Clothes were expensive and so when she bought anything she carefully curated her wardrobe so that quality basics complimented each other and were interchangeable. She accented pieces with leather and gold accessories and would also utilise silk scarves to add a pop of colour. The mindset was that the clothes had to last. I feel like I absorbed these principles by a kind of osmosis, lolz. I wish I had inherited her colouring as she looked fantastic in Winter colours which made dressing in a minimalist way much easier.

    I agree wholeheartedly. Mostly I have already been following this excellent advice for a long time. I only have one problem. I'm American and live in an area that's very hot and humid from June through September. Dark colors and many fabrics are just too uncomfortable to wear during that time. I look for cotton, linen, and rayon in light colors, but they are getting more and more expensive and harder and harder to find 😞. Also, it seems a lot of summer clothing for women is too frilly and too many garish colors and prints. I thought maybe I was shopping in the wrong places, but some online searches had no better results.

    • @JOJO-ug9ei
      @JOJO-ug9ei 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It’s not always possible to stay slim due to what life throws at you and menopause. This is something I have struggled with recently after neglecting myself to care for my Mum. I am working on the “slimness” but have realised that what gives clothes drama is the silhouette. I have always been pear shaped and now I am older my waist is not so well defined. You can still look good but you need to recreate the hourglass shape somehow. So I now look at my outfit and work out if I want a rounded or sharper angled shape. Shoulder pads and pointed shoes with a belted waist are now my key elements to looking slimmer and more elongated. It would be nice to be slimmer, but I have these things up my sleeve to help me :-)

      I am French and I’ve always been petite/slim. When I was 110-115, I could wear anything and had lots of compliments but was not ‘healthy’…Then I quit smoking, gain an average of 10 lbs a year until now…I am 145-150 lbs but I feel great/healthy. I had to reinvent myself now as a Senior and ‘discipline’ is key. For me, no bread, no pasta, no junk food…stay with salads, fruits, cheese, nuts…adapt Mediterranean diet…it’s the best! Be healthy and you will look good even as a Senior! Walk, walk, walk…it’s great for the mind, soul & body!

      Interesting observation! Indeed, navy blue is a classic color often seen as a softer alternative to black. It can add a touch of elegance without being as harsh, especially on older women. The French knack for creatively combining black and navy blue is an example of the subtlety with which they approach fashion. This shows how small changes in color palette can make a big difference in the overall look. Try incorporating navy blue into your wardrobe and see how it can rejuvenate and refine your style! 🌌🧵

    This video presents some really good tips but is sometimes let down by the examples chosen which look neither French nor very chic, e.g. the frumpy paisley print dresses. It would have been helpful to include better examples of what the presenter says but I appreciate her efforts

    I think classic Indian style is extremely beautiful. I believe the whole world of women would be beautiful in saris. But unfortunately the style is too complicated for modern life and also not so warm in cold places. I just had to bring it up, though, as being soooo very beautiful.

    True thing the brands and logos. Nowadays we don't wear clothes anymore, we are ambulant marketing for brands. When I see how the logos and names are so big and blatant in your face imprinted/painted on the clothes, even if I like them, I won't buy them

    • @LucrativeElegance

      I understand your point! Italian fashion is indeed known for its sophistication and boldness, always bringing a touch of unpredictability. It's wonderful how each culture has its own approach to fashion, allowing us to explore different styles and find what best represents us. If you love Italian style, draw inspiration from it to add a touch of originality and charm to your wardrobe. Fashion is a vast and creative field, so have fun experimenting! ✨
