You know, after seeing videos like this, I started to appreciate older cars more, especially Proton Saga. I'm a college student and I don't have enough money to buy one yet but I definitely want to buy this car for a start if I have money and maybe a little bit of customization to my liking (because you know, Saga and its customizations still exists today in Malaysia). Thanks for the informative video. Keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We barely have many Mitsubishi cars remaining on the road in U.S..It would have been nice having this car available here.Being 1.5 liters im sure it has excellent gas mileage.Great seating and perfect for city commuting. It looks attractive and also its very practical.I cant believe the condition this car is in for maybe 35 yrs old or more.I love 80's cars! They were lighter and generally required less gas than economy cars of today.Great job Malaysia!

Great looking car. I remember them in Ireland and they were sold alongside Lada cars. They weren’t around for very long. I owned a 1988 Mitsubishi Lancer estate and the interior was almost identical. The Lancer was brilliant and was so reliable.

Omg, *THE LAST OF ITS KIND.* Such a sad thing to observe no other is left. In automotive world, that kinda like erases the history of that car.
I’ve observed that mk3 Ford Escort is also another one you barely see. A friend of mine who lives in Uk, told me the Seat Malaga has gone completely extinct, as well as the 80s Honda CRX.

I used to work for a dealership who sold these new. Sad to see hardly any left, esp as engines were sooo reliable, the dealer said they only made money when selling the car! Plus galvanised panels. Lots of elderly bought them, so I thought there would be a lot left with low mileage.

Greeting form Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. I know these cars are very rare in the U.K. Both the car are in immaculate condition. Watching this video is time travel for me and to find cars in this condition in Malaysia is virtually impossible. The Malaysian climate is the number one cause. The sunroof is the biggest wow for me. We didn’t have sunroof for the Malaysian market.

Thanks Steph! What a nice car. I like that kind of dashboard over what we have now. Also, the slide controls for HVAC are great, as they work easier than the rotary type, but so too you can tell where they are at a glance.

Terima kasih Ms. I have one just like this as my family car, although it's sitting in a workshop for now. Can't wait for when I'm able to drive it again (manual transmission, with the only modified thing in it is the power steering wheel which made me feel like I'm racing as I drove it). & my old friend told me he called his own his Tank, & I agree wholeheartedly. My Aeroback Saga is my Tank :)

In Malaysia there are one special limited edition model, 80s proton saga knight (gun metal grey aeroback body style with special exterior body garnish and emblem, 1.5L 8v engine). Knight model was the only aeroback with 1.5L 8v engine, another aeroback use 1.3L 8v. Later the last batch first generation saga 90s use 1.3L and 1.5L 12v until 1992 and at the same year it have the new facelift model, proton saga iswara saloon and aeroback. There was one proton saga iswara saloon brown coloured in one of mr. Bean episodes during mr. Bean play golf

MIght still have my original 1990 brochure will have a look this afternoon, they did lot ofspecial editions in early years, usually meant metallic paint with some decals and possibly sunroof, but they looked good. Lloyd vehicle consulting did a review of a later 1995 saga 1.5 sl couple weeks back that looked good as well, another of the few remaining early models. As he pointed out one failing was the sunroofs nearly always leaked i found that out.

Made me smile saying keep fit windows less to go wrong. I can't argue on most stuff but on a Land Rover 90 the simplest least feature equipped car of the 80's the handle falls off, glass drops or the teeth sheer annually when they get to a certain age.
Can you guess what I have been fixing :-)
