FOR THOSE WITH NOTHING IN CONSOLE: Remove "@echo off" from the first line of the .bat. I have updated the one on the download link already.
when i try loading into my server it gets stuck on loading "tunnels" and it says invalid path in console, what do i do?

If anyone is having trouble changing the txt file to bat file go to file explorer, click on view, then check the box that says "File Name Extensions" then try again.

My Game crashes every time I try to load into my server with no explanation.
When I drag the file i downloaded from umod into my server folder it doesn't say anything about replacing files and doesn't give me an oxide file either
rember to disable auto update, if you updated then you have to download (or paste) the oxide agane

@@wannabesocrates to disable auto update just edit your bat file (the one that starts the servert), your updates then must be done manually (by creating another bat file that only updates the server)
Your rust server bat file should look something like this:

Your rust server update bat file should look something like this:
steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +app_update 258550 validate +quit
And after every server update you have to paste the oxide files agane, as explained in the vidoe

As soon as you've port forwarded properly and allowed it through your firewall it should start showing up on the list.
didnt work for me, when i copy and paste it does replace the files but there is no "Oxide" folder for me at all

Ports should be 28015-28016, unless you set them to be different.
You should appear on the list after port forwarding and running the server for an hour or so, possibly less.

hmmmn Ive seem to gotten to problem where After ive changed the Rust dedicated files with the oxide ones for some reason why i try to click the Start Bat nothing happens
Edit: I redownloaded the file and somehow it fixed itself

Uff rlly annoying. As soon as I add plugins and exchange the Dedicated Server folder with the oxide one I can not connect to my world and when connecting it appears Amsterdam II and I get disconnected.... Been trying for FKIN 7 hours to get this to work.... srsly why is stuff like that so dang complicated and NEVER works.
Is there something I need to do before I'm ready for these steps?

Everytime I shut down the server and then open it again it always starts over with the downloads it saves the ownerid and modid but restarted the validating progress...normal?
the launch script you're running is probably wiping it each time, I believe you need to edit the bat file

It stopped working after the Start.bat file, it wont run, it only goes in and re-opens the text.
You didnt follow instructions. Click view and tick file type. Remove .txt from start.bat.txt

How do I update umod
Any tips on optimizing a Rust server to run smoother? I already did chicken.population 0, fps.max 30 and lowered down the map size to 2200. Which don't get me wrong the server runs smoothly but if i put a map size of like 3000 the server experiences a LOT of lag and i really want a bigger map since the server is growing!
My pc specs:
i5-10400F 4.2GHZ 6 Core 12 Threads
16GB's 3000MHZ Ram
RTX 3060 12GB Overclocked To a Core Clock of 1982MHZ and a Memory Clock Of 8750MHZ
and the server is installed on an SSD with priority set to high.
I am upgrading soon to an i7-10700F and 64GB's Of 3600MHZ Ram but for now i really want the server to run smoothly cause it'll be a month or so before i upgrade
This is a stronger configuration for the server but if you play and host a server, it won't be enough. you need a separate dedicated
YOU NEEEED more ram and maybe 3070 but 3060 should be ok the cpu is ok but ram you need atleast 32 because 16gb is like minimum i think for rust thats why because servers take up like 20 gb of ram
Does installing umod/oxide wipe the server? Like map, player inventories, blueprints? Is it possible to install it without wiping everything?

If ever I type in (connect localhost:28015) it jus times out and at the nd it says (NotImplementedException: Oops - no IPV6 support yet?). Is there anything that I could do to stop this from happening?

On Windows 10, go the folder, hit View at the top. Then make sure "File name extensions" is on.
Then you can rename it and remove the .txt.

Mine created a RUNDS.BAT file which contains the Update script. When i run it, it deletes the copied rust dedicated folder and replaces it with a non-oxide version. If i create a "start.bat" file like yours and don't have it update i get the following error message on startup and it hangs... What is the issue? I added a line to create a log file when running start.bat script. If you tell me how to contact you, I'll email it so perhaps you can help me better. PLEASE!!! Thx.
