You do not understand how long I have waited to see an upload from you once more! Wow, was it worth the wait. This is out of this world. I really hope you continue to upload as it doesn't go unappreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Every single detail of this is just amazing. Nothing but pure talent.
I'm speechless. Your talent and creations have been sorely missed, but you've rewarded us with an incredible work. You have perfected your art and it touches me deeply. It's quite simply, incredible! Thank you
This is unbelievable. I'm actually crying. This version is so much more powerful than other versions I've heard because of the perfect balance of volume - the shrieking highs are stabilized by roaring lower voices and everything feels so supported. I'm also happy to be able to hear unique tones such as the G at 2:09 which is drowned out and lost in other versions! Also - love your white pants :)
Oh my god... I have not felt my soul be shaken like that in a very long time. Tears, chills, and literal convulsions of my body as my soul moved with the music. This is one of the most beautiful works of art, both audibly and visually, I have ever had the privilege of witnessing. Thank you so much for this
This is amazing on more levels than I can count. That voice, the control, the editing, the lighting, the choosing of best acoustical place to sing, the SOUND. This is talent and skill and gifting beyond measure. There are just no words stellar enough to describe this. Those final notes at the end and at around 11:40. I think we have had a taste of what the Heavenly Throne Room will sound like.
As a musician and choral director (who has a bit of video editing experience) I can only say that I am astounded. I found your channel by searching "When I Leave the World Behind" which was stellar (especially how you tweaked the tag at the end), but this is some next level stuff. I cannot imagine the amount of time taken to record all the tracks and edit them. It was visually stunning as well as aurally stimulating. I am going to be showing this tomorrow to a few of my kids in hopes to jump start their creative juices. Bravo.
Legendary. Hard to grasp how beautiful this was. Some moments made me think about how I've never heard some of these sounds in my life before. Very beautiful.
This is a masterful and remarkable homage to Whitacre's genius, as well as a stunning display of both your vocal and editing talents. My deepest thanks for providing the world with this treasure of a performance; I know I'll be coming back to it again and again.
I'm really glad I've been watching your videos all these years. I thought you had stopped posting. This was such a surprise, and a treasure. Thank you for this.
I just needed a refresher before singing this again with my choir, and found your video. Wow. I’m speechless. Your range is incredible and the sensitivity of your rendition and the video is right on. I never comment on videos, but this was such a feat. Well done!
Dude. I've been subscribed for years. Always enjoyed your content. This however. Watching it on my 55" TV was just mesmerizing and...phenomenal! Amazing work! Like you did that! You perfectly depicted the entire ambience of the piece! I was in another world!
This is absolutely fantastic. You very closely managed the essence of a large chamber choir in your mix and I am blown away by your vocal range and blend. It sounds like many unique vocal layers were placed on top of one another with a very articulate, warm, and natural vocal processing. It's like hearing this masterpiece for the first time again, so thank you. The editing also had beautiful care put into it as well, which any video editor can immensely appreciate. I was struck by when each layer started to turn red at that second build-up because that's always the kind of feeling I got listening to When David Heard; as this emerging sense of red despair at the thought of losing one's son. The piece itself is certainly up to interpretation, so pardon my partiality, but some parts of your song felt like it needed to be slowed down a bit and have taken its time more. Specifically a lot of those back-and-forths in the middle felt a bit rushed. A personal preference, surely, but just about the only critique I can think of. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. And I haven't even explored the rest of your TH-cam channel yet. I'm excited to see your other performances now!
Holy Hell Barby you really... I have no words. This is honestly amazing O,O The video editing alone is perfect, but the way you harmonised your voice together and actually got the audio together... my lord O,O
A lot of people (including myself) think or even dream of doing this and either just don't or never can get around to it. YOU DID! What.. An.. Amazing.. Undertaking 🤯🤯🤯 I can barely do an 8 part (8 voice) arrangement and you did a Complete production with the voices of a full chorus. I know the patience and tedious nature of what the basic idea requires, you're just on a completely different level with it. Well done, you got my full standing ovation sir!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hail the king of barbershop! I personally am not a fan of this particular piece. but I'd like to commend your work nevertheless. I especially loved the bari solo! Cheers and I think I can speak for all of your fans when I say that we'd love to hear from you more often!
Funny, I just randomly thought of this channel and looked up your cover of Cruella Devil like last week. Was wondering what you were up to now a-days. Glad to see you're still singing and trying out some new video stuff too =)
Barbershop666 If you take requests, then I would love to hear you sing Rebecca by Alun Hoddinott. I sang 2nd Tenor on that song in high school. We used to say that if we could sing Rebecca then we can sing anything. Seeing your magnificent work on this song, I am excited about what you can accomplish with Rebecca.
This is absurd. Seriously, is this done without voice manipulation? I'd quibble a bit with the speed of some sections but my goodness what an effort. Incredible!
I used to listen to something similar to this back in college--think it was William Billings David's Lamentation.....it sounds like Whitacre took that, added a ton more parts, and cut out the "would to God I had died for thee, O Absolom, my son....my son." This arrangement loses me a bit in the middle with all the countertenor jumping around. Whitacre does stack a nice chord in general though. As usual, your performance was awesome. ....So I went looking, and here's a passable performance of the one I was talking about. The triplet near the end is appallingly weak, and they cut out a little trill at the end (which makes it even more boring), but you'll get the idea. th-cam.com/video/zstoz5dyBQg/w-d-xo.html
This is astounding. I bow to you sir.
The long hair is a nice touch. Looks good!
This is the same person who mined 1 million enderstone in 147 hours.

This video haven't got the recognition it deserves
Un-freaking-believable! Fully worth the long wait. It takes guts to lay out in dozens of takes such a long and challenging piece.
This has actually become my favorite recording of this piece. The balance, blend and dynamics are incredible 👏🏻
Peter Hollens sent me here and I have to agree with him. This is just bonkers. Thank you for this gift.
