  • A little over half an hour from Sydney, the Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park is an incredible outdoor escape with amazing Australian bush tracks, epic views, beautiful wildlife flowers and so much more. I also got a chance to test my bush tucker knowledge with some of the local plants.
Definitely one of the best things to do near Sydney!
It also gave me a chance to test out Nikon's Z50 Mirrorless camera as a vlog set up, which they loaned to me recently.

One of my new favourite escapes close to Sydney, there is so much on offer and I only just scratched the surface!! What are your favourite escapes close to home?

    Hello Cuz
I do enjoy your Vlogs, and your love of life, it's plants and creatures too.
Wouldn't mind seeing you sing a song with your guitar at one of these beautiful places..
Maybe if I ask you nicely, we can catch up and you could take me to Ku-Ring-Gai one day with you, as long as you take it easy on an ol'fella..
You are doing a great job, it's all well edited, and easy viewing.
    Hi to Mum and Dad..
    Matt and Ash too.
    🤜🤛
    Mark.

Hi JJ, I just found your video (maybe a bit too late!) and literatelly enjoy it. Love it that you throw in a bit of the nature around you what the type of trees and plant. Are you going to do another similar one soon? Please do you mind add in a bit of information on how to get there if one doesn't have a car and what is a nearest station or bus to the Ku-Ring-Gai chase? I always wanted to walk in the national park, but unfortunately, I do not have a car.

I'm glad you liked the video! I don't think there is a whole lot of public transport in KRGC unfortunately, bit I really hope you get to visit!

Hey legend!! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!! This was just a day out in the bush, hand held with a new camera!! Definitely took advantage of that 120fps and it worked a treat! I recently upgraded to the Z6 II and love it!!

Loved this one! We always love seeing you with and hearing you talk about Wildlife so passionately, but honestly loved this one just as much without any animals. Loved all the information you had around the Native Flora!

Thanks guys!! Yeah, the plant world can be pretty interesting too! It can be hard to back up wildlife videos weekly, so it's a good reason to diversify a bit!!

Thanks mate I really appreciate it and who doesn't love a good tree cuddle? 😅 Yeah, Nikon sent me the camera (I guessed they liked the photos and videos I was putting out) and I got to test it out for a few weeks, which was an amazing opportunity! Thanks again for watching!

Amazing stuff as always JJ! Ku-Ring-Gai looks absolutely stunning, it's always a treat to get to spend time in wilderness like that so close to home. It looks like the kind of habitat that would be very biodiverse, did you see a lot of wildlife during your hikes that you didn't get to film? I loved the segment about the practical uses of native plants, Evan and I both study primitive survival skills so it was really cool to learn about some useful Australian species. I'd love to see more videos about that soon. Gotta love the zip-off khakis, super stylish. Can't wait for your next adventure!

Thanks as always for watching guys!! I didn't see too much wildlife. Mainly birds, could hear the frogs, the mammals come out at night and it's only just warming up for reptiles now (start of Spring). I love getting into the bush and just embracing nature (literally, like cuddling a tree! haha). There is so much the bush can give back if you are willing to learn about it!

Thank you so much!! I genuinely appreciate you watching, commenting and subscribing!! When I went to Ku-Ring-Gai Chase, there was one road that ran through the major part of the national park all the way to the headland. All the tracks are well marked along this road, with the American Bay track being on the left hand side about half way down. I hope this helps!! Let me know how you go =)

Sooo good! We definitely need to put this adventure on our list! 😀 Loved learning all about the bush tucker 👌😁 also what do you charge your camera battery on while out adventuring?

    • @JJEmersonWildlife
      @JJEmersonWildlife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

the bush is amazing... so much to give back if you are willing to learn and embrace nature!! The camera charged directly via a USB micro port, so I just plugged it into a powerbank (I've got a pretty decent size one, it's Anker brand) and that could charge the camera a few times over if necessary. Great for camping etc, but still doesn't beat having a few spare batteries!!
