Welcome to my first Paddle Guide.
Travelling to a new area for the first time can be difficult and can make it hard to go and see some of the excellent waterways that Sydney has. This guide is designed to get you started and tell you what you need to know about paddling at Bobbin Head.
Bobbin Head is in the Ku-ring-ai Chase National Park on Sydney's Upper North Shore. Its a well known beginners area which offers sheltered conditions and quiet creeks with Rainforest and Australian Bush. There's excellent picnic facilities, amenities and even food outlets. If you're starting out paddling or paddling with Kids or just want a quiet day its an excellent place to go. This guide covers how to get there, how to get in the water, some of the main sights and what to expect.
I filmed on a pretty dark and grey day with a little rain towards the end which affected the video. I have recently started learning how to edit video and I'm trying to make kayaking videos a couple times a month around Sydney and New South Wales.

Hey Dan. Thanks for sharing. Kayak this route after watching your video this arvo. What a beautiful and peaceful sight. When you have time would you please share a video of how to launch your kayak at the launching spot. So many oysters and my heart was bleeding when mine scratched.😂. Thanks in advance.

Great guide. I took my packraft up Cowan Creek a few weeks ago but didn't get as far as this because of the low tide making the upper reaches too shallow. Wished I'd known about the waterfall, would have been a good side trip.
