Full Top of the Rock Experience - The Elevator Show

- While in NYC last summer, I had the opportunity to see Top of the Rock observation deck. It's similar to going to the top of the Empire State Building, but a bit less well-known. Located at the top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the lines are shorter and the view is better, so I'd highly recommend it (plus, the famous Empire State Building is actually part of your view since you're not standing on top of it). I decided to split away from my group to attempt to get some footage of the entire process--from arriving to the 2 elevator rides to the top. I also shot plenty of photos and video at the top. I just came back from NYC last night, and only did The Empire State building, and One World Trade but both were absolutely amazing experiences.
Next time, I'll do the Top of the Rock, and a few other things I missed =-)
Easily one of my favorite experiences living in nyc. Top of the rock, that elevator is so cool lol.
I like the high rise elevators there a bit like the ones on the CN tower except the floor and ceiling go clear so you can see the view above and blow as you go up

sun shine ugh dude I just came back from vacation yesterday we were on the tenth floor no joke at a damn resort the only way to get to the room was to walk along the balcony walkway seriously I almost passed out I was in major panic attack mode but I had to suck it up for a whole week I mainly stayed in that kondo most of the time with the curtains closed I just couldn't take it
How long does the experience take, excluding the time you spend on the actual observation deck? I’m trying to time this and make sure we get to another event that has a set time.
Did u go up the empire st building? Also did u go up the 1 world trade center freedom tower?

Nice! Certainly a lot of line waiting though. Oh well. You do get a nice view!-- I've never seen the observation deck so at first I thought it was going to be like an enclosed observation deck on the 67th floor with a few windows and nothing outside, nothing special in other words, so I thought, "Yeah they better have cool graphics in the Elevator". :)
We thought about doing this when we went to New York, but we decided it was too expensive. Looks like an amazing view though, and it's outside!
I was up there attending a conference that gave us vouchers to do this. I was pretty shocked when I saw how expensive it actually is when you have to pay full price.

They should make more elevators like that and with a window in the floor!

Went up here when I was 12 and completely scared of heights. I'm 25 now and still scared of heights lmao. Watching this doesn't help.
A middle school field trip when our resource room class students also were aged 12 - 14 in your age group of age 12. To see The Christmas Tree at Plaza level and rode the elevator also to Top Of The Rock. It is a very fun visit. Also as a side trip in this Rockefeller Center they also for a separate purchase ticket price offer an NBC Studio Tour, this requires a separate ticket though the Rockefeller Center website advertises package deals on visiting here where the bundled price is sold at a reduced admission price. On our school visit we did not take the NBC Studio Tour, but thankfully we did visit upstairs at Top Of The Rock, Observatory.
