No, not very kind people. In the city, in Australia one day, I saw an Asian girl that looked very uncomfortable with herself or something. In fractured reply she stated WC or washroom, I don't clearly remember wish of the two. I pointed to toilets in the shopping area we were in. She thanked me and rushed off to the toilet. The Anglo male looking on expressed the dissatisfaction on his countenance, and cold almost angry stare towards me. You're European, they will help you first, not the Asian.

Mate, it would be great to meet you in person and talk about langauage and prospects. I have seen you having a proper English language evolution talk with an English guy: such a satisfying occasion that was. One thing, however, I would like to know your view on is how do you take the fact that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being used in determining langaguage proficiency? Does it make any sense to disregard body languages including eye contact- which I think is as important as your vocabulary - in English test or any language in general? For example, Peasrson Test of English (PTE) which is a very widely accepted English Testing system uses artificial intelligence to assess all aspects of langauage : Reading, writing, listening and speaking. The first three perhaps make sense, but speaking test on such a way is a deliberate attempt to kill language I assume. I have seen people memorsing templates (off course the test has been there for long enough to know how it works and it is far from perfect interms of designing and contruct) and thus, advance English Certificate in hand whereas, when it comes to put their skill in test, they really struggle. In general, English as testing system is long way off from ideal. I am glad, I learnt English as my second language on my own; countries are under illusion that they are taking in people who are good at languages.
These questions annoy me, to be honest. There is nothing special about Australian English. A few different words (Many of which come from Aboriginal dialects), a few different pronunciations... but our English isn't really that different from American or British English. Yet, Americans especially, tend to treat Australia as if we're this far away place that is more foreign to them than Mars. We're not a zoo. We're just like you are.
I live here in Australia and I am South East Asian. From my experience, Australia isn't racist. The majority are very friendly however you might get some stares from the old locals. Lol. They won't say anything just stare 🤣

Compared to Turkey, I'd say Australia isn't racist at all.
Here even politicians use racist language, especially against Arabs (talking About them as if they were animals or parasites, with a very anti-Semitic-like rhetoric that used to be used in Europe in the 19th and early 20th century)
Wow... that's full on. I don't think any politician would get away here with that kind of language. Fraser Anning was pretty much publicly outcast after he used a phrase that was also used by a certain dictator. :(
Yes

Do not use "but". Cos you're logically ruining the meaning of sentence before "but". Use "and in the same time" instead.
Haha fair call :D
@@AussieEnglishPodcast thanks. It was vital sentence. "It's non of my business and in the same time" sounds better.:)
@@meSNakeIce hehe definitely sounds more intellectual.
I think ill add you just for corrections😃
Honestly racism for the minority is bigger challenge than the spiders or snakes since they don’t bite unprovoked but the racists do.
Sorry mate I happened to be your fan also minority Australian
Yes. So is every culture & race.
Brasil added to the bucket list
And i thought Canada treated their indigenous people bad but Australia is definitely on par
Yes, they are
:( I promise not all of us are, just the bad ones hehe
There are good and bad people and bogans just like the rest of the world, personally, I experienced that twice in Tassie, one for a drove through shouting and cursing, another was a group of motorcyclists, again they insulted us first, then we exchanged words no physical contacts, thought of they might be members of Hell Angers LOL.
We're better ;) More unique hehe
I am wondering if there is a West Australian accent ?
I live here in Australia and I am South East Asian. From my experience, Australia isn't racist. The majority are very friendly however you might get some stares from the old locals. Lol. They won't say anything just stare 🤣
No they are not actually, but some may feel others are strange
Yeah, they are. They are lowkey racist, but that's fine all of us has different prejudices. But majority of minority of aussies are.
Yes I met some, but most of them are lovely people🥰 So I just look on the positive side, well wherever we go they will be always racism.
Keep up the Portuguese at home that how i learned my Pork chop Forca

Are humans mammals?

Are Aussies inherently as a culture quite racist?
Yes! #notall
But why?
He lost all credibility by saying Melbourne is the best city. It's the woke capital. Since COVID half of the state has moved north to less radicalised states 😅
Is Perth the most racist place in Australia? Sorry for asking, just wanna ask an opinion from an aussie.
Perth is fine. As a Non White Aussie the worst area for racism in Australia (imo) is regional Queensland.
@@biggiedii4889 are they racist to all foreigners and non white or just only certain race, from what I heard the racism is more toward indian and chinese, is that true?
@@edenklaus342 The indian and chinese communities are the biggest in the country. They're easily targeted and mostly hated. To be honest, chinese-looking asians get the same amount of hatefulness, racism and xenophobia as well
@@IdontknowhoIameither oh man it is gonna be tough life for asian students studying in australia
@@edenklaus342 yes, and we Chinese and Indian hate each other 😁
Australian are not racist..
The absence of your (or Dan's video) acknowledgement of the perpetual racism levelled at First Nations people demonstrated the bias you explain. The absence of us in your accent explanations and our existence is a pertinent response on racism says volumes.
Hahaha 😁
When did u start going bald?
Looking back, I think around 17-18 I noticed hair was falling out.
hypocrites.
are ya racist?
Haha
he said yes
just fake poeple
Wow what a fancy term for racism: "in group bias"
