Very informative. These are the exercises that I am just finishing with physical therapy, I had lumbar fusion 8 weeks ago. As I get stronger and stronger,I would like to increase them, and possibly do exercises to strengthen my back muscles. What is the next step? Physical therapist says ask Dr, and Dr says ask physical therapist. confusing!
@@adityalotankar4306 A little better every day,Thanks for asking. But it’s been slow progress. When the Dr said one year for recovery,he wasn’t kidding. It was horrible at first. Couldn’t get out of bed, couldn’t walk. It was impossible to turn over in bed. It took about four months to see much improvement. It’s been 8 months now. I’m getting around better. The nerve pain that I had before surgery is almost gone. At this point,I think that it was worth the ordeal.
This is like gold to me right now, I wish I could go outside I live upstairs and have only left my apt to get my stitches out. I am on week 3 after an ALIF L5-S1 fusion. I did not know how long I should walk inside the home. Sitting up is better.
At 2 weeks after my alif s1-L4 i was at a gym using treadmill. Walk as much as you can. Walking has helped me recover quicker. I am almost 4 weeks post op and i am walking at 3.1 mph for 35 minutes on a treadmill. Then i go out and keep the body moving all day. Walk as much but also rest. My pain is minimal, just a little discomfort after my body gets tired from being active. Thats when i rest in bed with a heating pad.
Walk walk and walk.. i focused on cardio about 1 month before surgery and lost 12 pounds.. the better condition you have the faster you heal. I am 25 days post op and most of my pain is gone. I just feel a little discomfort after my walking exercise. My neurosurgeon told me if i wanted to heal fast to walk as much as i can. Its helped alot. After 2 weeks i was in a gym using a treadmill at 1.8 mph for 15 minutes, almost 2 weeks later im 3.1 mph for 35 minutes… keep the body moving as much as you can and then rest. Hope this helps, it helped me
