Because you automatically EFFING loose once it reaches zero, even if the damn enemy has like 1hp left. Who the hell thought this is fine? Not to mention the enemies are OP as hell.
Play on Easy mode for the actual game, the ATB will fill up faster even while doing hard mode on Fort condor and you'll still get the hard mode trophy and expericen points etc but the ATB gauge fills up alot faster

@@terry85mar The trophy for hard mode only works if you beat the *chapters* on hard. These hard mode minigames can be done just fine on the easy/normal/dynamic modes of the game, so easy mode can be done here. Beating the game on hard is just choosing chapters to do but only being able to do them on hard mode. This stuff you can just go to chapter 12 and do the open world stuff thats left to do that way
Easy tips, first u need to defend the first wave by using ballistic. After that, use catapult to attack the main target boss. Put all the catapults on the same spot ( in the middle of map, so all catapult can directly attack the boss)
Can you just hit the difficulty reduction setting when you edit your load out? Does that still count for trophy? Not trying to spend 3 hours getting bodied by a minigame

Fortress max defense. Let trebuchets and ballistas kill attackers at the choke points. Then use units to power up your Cloud/Tifa. Then advance, plop any ballistas that remain in front of the main tower. And throw everything at the boss all at once.
Anyone know why I'm not getting the party XP notification when I beat these on hard? I've done 3 of 4 and have not seen any notifications. I noticed the map icons for the Gears and Gambits Phenomenon in Cosmo Canyon had a little "note pad" on them when hard mode unlocked; I received notifications and got 5 party XP when I completed each level hard but not with Fort Condor.
this last one is particularly aggravating. He stops all my final units and they can't get rid of the effect so I'm just standing there for 10 seconds doing nothing
But they did expand on it, technically; they added a whole new faction and new mechanics. They only minimised its presence in the game in favor of Queen's Blood.

My strategy was to give up a lane if there are too many enemies and focus on the other lane instead. The towers are strong and tanky enough to handle the enemies and summoning a hero to nuke the enimies if the main tower if cloae to falling.
When a minigame is objectively bad: when the rules are not the same for the player and the opponent and are heavily stacked against you. And when the so called "hard mode" version of the minigame is simply further nerfing the player to make playing even more tedious. And then, making players having to play these minigames several times to unlock not so optional content (Gilgamesh Island, thus the Gilgamesh fight and summon, the final 4 materia of Chadley, the brutal and legendary challenges). Gears and Gambits, 3D Brawler and Cactuar crush are some of the worst minigames, added only to waste time and make the 100% completion artificially more difficult, but nothing is worse than Fort Condor. SE took the well-balanced Fort Condor of Intermission and purposely turned it into a torture: the timer being an insta-fail even if the enemy has no tower or unit left and is 1 HP away from defeat, the enemy gets all the advanced units and spells (like the stop and barrier-changing spell to make sure you lose to the timer even if he is cornered, Ah Ah Ah) while you get the basic weak ones, the enemy summoning units faster than you can. I am worried for the next game. Will they similarly ruin Queen's Blood as well (now, we will have a 3 min timer after which, if not all three lanes are won, we lose + we get only the basic starting decks with no possibility to get new cards while the opponent get to have all the crazy cards in Rebirth)? Please SE, don't introduce minigames which never were in the OG to begin with, and don't ruin already existing minigames just for the sake of making them "more challenging".
Jules was so much easier in this game vs Remake. Queens Blood nightmare was def the challenge for sure but get the right deck and you can get 200 pts by the 4th round

All of ff7 og ff7 remake and rebirth are easier than the last hard mode of this. Including ruby and emerald weapon. Might as well throw in omega from ff8. This is harder
Looking at Barret, Cloud and Tifa in Fort Condor, you can see the game makers are seriously thinking about remaking the original game this way at some stage

Put the game on easy mode and you will get faster ATB on hard mode, that's the trick so the game doesn't tell you.
Then it's not really hard mode now is it, by that standard, might as well just pick normal mode...

You can put this on easy for the ATB build up.Don't worry it does not mess with your trophies you just have to beat it.
You won't be able to get the trophy for beating the game on hard though. It detects it the moment you put it on easy.

This mini game is a breeze compared to crunch off pro, chocobo flight and the later piano themes. Those were infuriating to complete.
