Hello Sunny, Is there any chance you could give me details of how you booked your Alta via 1 hiking trip and any tips etc on the best time of year & things to plan for? I did e-mail you, however if you are like me, most of my mail goes to the junk box and i don't see it. So, you could have missed it.
For booking the Alta Via 1 hike, I emailed each rifugio individually to reserve a bed. Each rifugio has a different time frame for accepting reservations-many start around December of the previous year, but some don’t begin until February or March. Once they responded, they requested a bank transfer for the deposit. I know it’s complicated and wish they would set up web reservations! I hope this helps. I recommend starting early. The best time for the AV 1 hike is July to September. I did it in July. Sorry for missing your email. I checked my junk mail but couldn’t find it.
