I just saw Sandler in Omaha last night and got the song on video. I posted it on my channel if anyone wants to see it. I have never seen so many people cry at one time in my life. No matter how many times I hear The Sandman sing it, I always cry. I’m older and that SNL cast was my era and my favorite. What a beautiful man Adam is. What an honor it was to see him do this song live last night. xoxo
I always wonder this myself. Its like he wasnt as much loved by his co stars. Cant imagine that tho. I remember Leno actually crying when he told the passing of Hartman on the tonight show.

Everyone was in tears Jimmy, not just you and the cast members and crew. Everybody. I lost it when Adam Sandler sung about trying to rein Farley's out-of-control partying, telling him he might end up like Belushi and Candy. The problem is this: You just can't convince somebody to go easy on the booze and drugs, when you're also at the same party with a drink in one hand and a spliff or a pipe in the other. Those guys needed an intervention, not a studio full of enablers.

Farley needs to be in the comedic hall of fame, or whatever they have. Relatively short career, but so impactful for generations.
Jordan Posvar agreed. Dude, people base entire personas on him. He’s genius. He’s just a class clown.
Awe, Mr. Fallon, this made me cry. ❤
Just visited his grave actually after I saw the episode on Sunday. It’s finals week so I had some time between to pay my respects to the local legend ❤️
That song, from guitar to lyrics to vocals, was a heart cry for his friend..it got me good
Jimmy always says he loves everything & everyone, but THIS was genuine.
This was so sweet, Jimmy. Thanks for sharing with us. ❤️
That Chris Farley song effin killed me.
I kind of cried and laughed while listening to Sandlers tribute! Love Sandler, he's one of my actor idols!😗😗
Adam Sandler is just the best dude!! So nice and down to earth.
Fallon isn't the funniest dude but he's run in the funniest crowds and appreciates comedy and that's what makes him worthy of the Tonight Show. Beautiful story.
I can't stop listening to Farley's song. Beautiful.
What an honor it was to see him do this song live last night. xoxo
The Chris Farley tributes are, as always, heartwarming. Especially this one. But I wonder why they never pay tribute to Phil Hartman in the same way
Alreem That story is so fucked up, and it should be talked about more. Phil was really on his way to becoming an icon in comedy.
Good point! I agree with you. Phil Hartman kept that show afloat for a lot of years!
I always wonder this myself. Its like he wasnt as much loved by his co stars. Cant imagine that tho. I remember Leno actually crying when he told the passing of Hartman on the tonight show.
Probably because Phil's story is not only tragic it's fucking horrific and people don't even want to remember how it ended.
Likely because the prick who caused his murder (Andy Dick) would try to involve himself or otherwise try to steal focus.
Loved this. Adam's song was great. Touching yet still funny.
His tribute song was good on SNL but the one on the Netflix Special was just a little better in my opinion.
Yeah but there is something special, seeing it being performed on 8H stage, which was home for both of them.
Facts
He didn't have to edit for language for one thing. Also he didn't have time on SNL for a guitar solo
James Noble for someone who’s played guitar for years, that solo was dogshit, love Sandler either way but we can go without the guitar solo
I liked them both. The Netflix version because it wasn't censored, but the SNL version because you can hear his emotion. Either way, the song itself is a fabulous tribute to his best friend......
I love how Jimmy is fanstruck makes him so real to me🤷
@Brandon S why are you such a jerk?
@Brandon S He was always like that, he is the biggest SNL fan there is btw. You're projecting out of lack of knowledge.
@BVE Sometimes it's important to inform haters, that their opinion is pretty much worthless. We are really glad you shared you spit now get lost to your lousy life and begone. Got it?
This.
Those where the good ol days...when those folks where on Saturday night live.. Ive been funny my whole life..because of SNL ...i learned to change my voice. Make funny faces be outside the box with my humor..and it gave me the same greatness to be the life of the party where ever i went.. I love them alll. What a great night...
It’s so nice to see the real jimmy being heartfelt and honest, I miss this jimmy
Omg I just watched it again and it's _still_ emotional to watch. 😢
OMG --- a) what a heart-felt set of comments; and b) that dinner line-up of '70s+ starts!!! 1:40
The damn coffee cup left GoT’s set to make it to Jimmy’s desk! Sneaky Starbucks
Lol, ikr!👏
That song was Neil Simon good. Crying and laughing at the same time. #ChrisFarley
Everyone I know who has ever known or even met Sandler has said he’s not the nicest guy in showbiz they’ve ever met, but the nicest person period they’ve ever met.
I saw Sandler's tribute to Farley during his Netflix special, and OMG...I lost it 😭 I grew up watching these guys + Spade, Rock, Meadows, Schneider, etc., etc. I mean, most of my life I've been a huge SNL fan....including the Fallon, Ferrell, etc. era, lol!
I love Jimmy's stories so much.
Jimmy Fallon is a GOOD DUDE!
It's amazing to hear him talk about people I grew up with. I'm still young but I grew up with the oldies.
Everyone go watch Sandler's standup on Netflix. That's when the Farley song first dropped and the whole standup is absolutely amazing.
imagine there is a fly disturbing Jimmy and he is trying to get rid of it while talking
Thanks! Now I can't stop! Lol
I wish we could get more authentic Jimmy Fallon moments like this.
💯👑My dad & I watched that Song and I grew up on Chris Farley movies & old SNL skits and my dad lived through Chris Farley’s Career, so it was pretty cool seeing that tribute song!👑💯
Farley was my hero growing up. Had his poster to Beverly Hills Ninja hanging up on my wall wherever I went most of my childhood.
Chris Farley was the funniest .... love him... big part of my childhood made me laugh my ass off so many time's 🤘😂😂RIP
I cried at that tribute by Sandler. I saw him in a comedy club in Huntington New York when he was 16!
BEST SNL episode ever I laughed so hard, cried at the end.
This was a serious talk by Jimmy. I sense his respect towards Adam and Chris
Chris Farley was one of a kind... one of the funniest EVER.... miss him so much😁
I love his impression of Adam 😂😂 so funny
This talk is so real I love it
Fallon did the best out of all of them. Actually i think hes one of a few that didnt fail completely
Melissa and Pete made good job.
@@maczetamaczeta189 yeah im not really being fair. Everybody did a good job. But fallon was the only one to really crack up sandler
John Candy tribute was awesome
Awesome tribute! You can tell they were good mates.
I always knew Adam Sandler was Jimmy Fallon’s Dad.
Yeah and Pete Davidson is their adopted kid :P
Loving Jimmy lately!
