Why was rolling not added sooner? It was a decision made early on to keep the feeling of battlefront 1 2004 and to simplify the controls. However, recently it has become apparent that this decision was to the detriment of the game. Adding rolling increases the skill ceiling, while also making combat and maneuvering more fun. If you would prefer not having rolling in the game, you can simply play the game as you did previously and the game will automatically keep your ship level.
Maybe, but Disneys track record shows that a project is far more likely to get shut down if it’s a remake of an existing game. Green Squadron takes some of the best parts of the classic games and combines it into something new. On top of that, I am in the process of making the game open source, meaning anyone will be able to access and modify the source code and assets needed to recreate it.
