YOU are pleasant to listen too and great at explaining. I just started learning Tai-Chi in Peoria AZ at United Kung Fu. I am still working on my breathing and movements. I am 70 Years young currently yet I was 70 years old 3 weeks ago. Thank you for what you are doing!

My favorite comment in the video is that you should master the physics before the metaphysics. As a lifelong student of physics and tai chi, that is the truest statement I ever heard.
Before I learned the physics of special relativity, the lay concepts seemed esoteric. I finally understood the deeper meaning of the two postulates through the math. It showed that the physical laws didn’t need to be changed, it’s the concept of how we measured things from different points of view that needed changing and the best way to adjust those differences is by linking the measurements to something that’s a constant in all points of view.
The only reason why it finally clicked was when I started to do the calculations. There was nothing to memorize, just plug the numbers in and the answer is apparent. With enough calculations, you’ll notice the deeper metaphysical meanings like the concept of simultaneous events has no meaning, things that happened in your present, happened in my past or will happen in my future. There’s also great beauty in the physics too, I’ve seen proofs of the equations using just Pythagorean’s theorem.

Please do not forget to come back to the topic of the indigenous martial arts of North America! While I watch and listen to you for your sage taijiquan instruction and reflections, it is hard to find reliable information on that topic and you are a voice I trust.

I'm so grateful that you made a youtube channel to share your thoughts. I learned the Yang 24 form from your videos and even after all these years, you still give me things to think about. I love your perspective, and your delivery is very relaxing. Merry new year to thee and thine, hope you're doing good :3

There is one more relevant notion associated to internal practices: nèi dān 内丹. Internal alchemy: how practice will transform you.

@@IanSinclairTaiChi I study them and admire them. I am from Argentina, and we have many restrictions with foreign currency use and expenditure. But I visited your website and I am seriously considering booking a private lessons with you. Translated to argentinean pesos, one hour of your classes are around 25% of a minimum wage here. A teacher here charges a 20% of what you charge. That's why I haven't yet booked a lesson, to argentinean standards are quite an investment. I will probably end up just donating to show you support, because you more than deserve it. Thank you for your generosity sharing your knowledge with your videos. And, as you would say, if you didn't understand what I said, then that means you started to understand what I didn't say, but mean.

Thank you for your feedback. If you would like to sign up for the free newsletter, I can send you new information as it becomes available. I am considering a new sliding scale for private lessons, which is based on local economies. There is a form on the homepage called: "Non-members: Sign up for the free newsletter."

Hey Ian, thanks for the video and channel. Is it possible to apply Tai Chi training to a punch bag? have your ever done so and if you have any knowledge of this? I would and I am sure many other viewers would love a guide. Thank you again.

I second this motion! If you search for it, there are videos by Andrew Plitt on the subject, but I would like to hear more on the topic.
Personally, I try to focus on the dantian and shifting when working on the bag, rather than the shoulders that habitually want to dominate. But I know nothing.
