I don't deny that some help was sent to starving republics. But you should also know that Holodomor was artificially created, by the Soviets. In 1945, mining and metallurgy were at 40% of the 1940 levels, electric power was down to 52%, pig-iron 26% and steel 45%; food production was 60% of the 1940 level. Listening to this song after following the current war from the start on social media brings so much more meaning to these lyrics. both then and now Europe is set against Russia. Both then and now Russia is fighting fascism
@antimarxistaction3769War-crimes are very very different from genocide, you need to watch out with what you say. Any war has war crimes in it, but genocide happens very rarely. The Eastern Front has a genocidal-theme to it which was systematically done on purpose, such thing is impossible in today’s war as Putin intends to bring Ukrainians and other such people into his “Novorussia”
@antimarxistaction3769And Putin is pragmatic, he’s not suicidal. The Russians people against all you might think are generally very supportive of Slavs together as one, aka Pan-Slavism. My paternal grandmother was not even three years old when the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union. Therefore, some of her earliest memories were being placed in a Jewish Ghetto in Kryzhopil. She spent almost four years in the Ghetto, being liberated only in late 1944, when the Red Army entered Ukraine. She was six years old when Comrade Stalin finally freed her parents, who were able to take her with them back to Kiev, which was already little more than smoking ruins after what the Nazis did to it. Since I am Jewish, like she was, I will never forgive Hitler for what he did to Ukraine. I will also not forgive Stalin for trusting Ribbentrop to keep his promise.
Wow. Respect to her for surviving that. Let’s just hope that stories like this won’t repeat…
-Stalin also did some thing to Ukraine, there’s more to hate him for-
@@BartlomiejDmowskiStalin did nothing wrong with Ukraine, yes, there was a famine, but it was precisely the famine that appeared due to the prevailing circumstances in the form of drought and an inexperienced state apparatus, Stalin himself, on the contrary, developed Ukraine
@@YresTA Holodomor literally was caused by Moscow. Later on, many policies which only strengthened its impact were undertaken
Ukraine might have somehow developed under Stalin, but it didn't have to be his success. I would assume he had nothing to do with it
@@BartlomiejDmowski I will not argue with you because I already see that you are an ideological anti-communist, I can tell you how it was that they tried to smooth out the famine as quickly as possible and stop it , they sent help to the republics affected by hunger
@@YresTA I'm not anti-communist. The only "ideology" I follow is Christianity. Not my fault that so many communists fought against us and ideals I believe in. Not all, but Soviet ones did
There are most definitely many lies about Stalin and communism, lies that try to paint them as the worst criminals in history. Surely they did many good things and I can say this confidently. No, sorry, I know they did.
This doesn't change the fact that especially in 1920s and 1930s, USSR scored millions of deaths because of collectivisation, Holodomor and Great Purge - more than Holocaust. I don't deny that some help was sent to starving republics. But you should also know that Holodomor was artificially created, by the Soviets. Lots of grain was confiscated, so that peasants had to chose which children would be fed and live on and which would have to die. It should also be said that lots of grain was exported abroad, as a propaganda sign that USSR is rich and wants to share its wealth. At the same time, people were dying because there was not enough food
And it can be continued. List of Soviet crimes and stories how human life didn't matter for the Bolsheviks is very long and shocking. Tambov Uprising is a very interesting case too, for instance. I always get angry when people praise Lenin and Stalin, because I feel that these sins have to be remembered for everyone. I might be too anti-communist with my rhetoric though, I agree
My great-grandmother lived in the small village of Nosovka, Chernigov region (This is near Kiev), she was born during Lenin and survived several years of the Holodomor. Then the Second World War began and in 1941 or 1942 the village of Nosovka was captured by German troops and before that the Germans bombed factories and houses (I was recently at this factory and even took photos there and I almost broke my nose there) And my great-grandmother survived all this. Then she went through the Cold War. 1991 Ukraine is independent in Nosovka protests and hunger of teachers. The 2014 crisis was not where mass protests took place. 2022 Russian-Ukrainian war and Nosovka was surrounded by troops and they tried to take it but they didn’t take it. My great grandmother is still alive

short thing about the impact of the war:
The USSR at this stage had been devastated by the war. Officially, 98,000 collective farms had been ransacked and ruined, with the loss of 137,000 tractors, 49,000 combine harvesters, 7 million horses, 17 million cattle, 20 million pigs, 27 million sheep; 25% of all capital equipment had been destroyed in 35,000 plants and factories; 6 million buildings, including 40,000 hospitals, in 70,666 villages and 4,710 towns (40% urban housing) were destroyed, leaving 25 million homeless; about 40% of railway tracks had been destroyed; officially 7.5 million servicemen died, plus 6 million civilians, but perhaps 20 million in all died. In 1945, mining and metallurgy were at 40% of the 1940 levels, electric power was down to 52%, pig-iron 26% and steel 45%; food production was 60% of the 1940 level. After Poland, the USSR had been the hardest hit by the war. Reconstruction was impeded by a chronic labor shortage due to the enormous number of Soviet casualties in the war (between 20 and 30 million).
