I've been hounding this community for a year about this guy and thanks for the coverage AP. Congratulations on the anniversary and many more!
💯 I agree with everything you’re saying 100%. I especially agree with the Pete Alonso/Bregman stuff. I couldn’t have worded it any better and you said exactly how I’ve been feeling ever since we started hearing about possible replacements for Pete. These people talking about Pete having a bad year and declining meanwhile, Bregman had his career worst season as well. And his season was worse than Pete’s. Then people saying Pete is on the decline and they should go after Christian Walker. 🤦♂️ Yea, that makes sense. Walker is four years older than Pete and is definitely going to decline sooner rather than later. So get rid of Pete because you think he might go on a decline for somebody that’s definitely declining? He never was as good as Pete in the first place. If you’re worried about Pete going on a decline at 29, then you should worry about Christian Walker declining bc he’s 34. You can’t just pick Walker up for one year and then go for Vlad next year bc Walker is going to be looking for more than one year. Keep Pete! I love Pete, but it’s not me just being overly high on Pete as much as it’s me not being big on acquiring bats to replace what we already have when it will be a downgrade. No free agent out there right now is as good as Pete offensively. As for the Alonso/Guerrero swap out, you can’t just not sign Pete this year banking on getting Guerrero next year bc there’s no guarantee we’re getting him next year. Mets fans are acting like arrogant Yankees fans now like we’re going to get every player we set our eyes on just bc our owner is wealthy. Well, guess what? The owner of the Blue Jays is also super wealthy and worth $12 billion. He also does not appear to be dismantling his team and giving up on winning. He has the same win now attitude as Cohen. He just went all out on bidding $700m for Soto. Why would he just let his best player walk away if he was obviously going all out to win this year by offering Soto $700m? People need to use their brains before they start spouting this nonsense.

It wouldn’t bother me that much if they grabbed Bregman because he is elite defensively and still pretty good offensively. I trust Stearns and if he thinks Bregman is the better option then I’ll go with him. I just would hate to see Pete go to another team and hit 50 home runs next year. I just think he had a bad season because it was his contract year and he had a lot of pressure on him. I would absolutely hate Christian Walker or Paul Goldschmidt at first. But the good news in that is that it means uncle moneybags cohen is going for Vlad next year. lol.

101.8 mph & tremendous horizontal movement...He'll greatly benefit from the Pitching Lab...The analysis on the mechanics is spot-on...And Senga can teach him the ghost fork...If he can master the ghost fork, literally unhittable...You had great analysis btw...!! Good comp to deGrom, who was, when healthy, the most unhittable pitcher in MLB...Also, Senga has been a pro for a while...A lot like Luca Doncic in the NBA, who showed up at age 20, but was a top level pro @ Real Madrid since he was 16...Like a HS kid playing for the Knicks...Point is that Sasaki is multi-year seasoned veteran versus top-level competition in Japan...In other words, he'll go straight to MLB...The time he lost makes him even younger than 23...Plus, he knows Steve Cohen can break the bank on a long-term deal after Year 1...
Hey Dom...Agree 100% on Roki...1) He is SPECIAL, as in Cy Young/HOF potential special 2) Senga is here 3) He likes the pitching lab & 4) HUGE Asian population in Queens and the greater tri-state area...Good shot that he comes here...imho ps Great Channel and I sent you an email

Los Angeles is on the West Coast, which matters to Japanese players because it is a much better timeslot for it viewership which allows them to make more money in endorsements. and its closer to Japan There’s really only one thing that the Mets can offer him that the Dodgers can’t. Which is they can guarantee him the chance to be at the top of their rotation from the start. But considering his goal is to be the best pitcher in the world I don’t think he will be too intimidated by the Dodgers amazing pitching depth. Pretty much the only way he rejects the Dodgers as if he doesn’t want to be in the spotlight and rather pitch in a smaller market. If that’s his desire he will probably be a mariner or angel

Middle market teams are large enough that he will have a ton of endorsement opportunities, but not too large where they have like five other pitchers that are just as good or better than him.
