Just imagine seeing a man chugging hundreds of cans of food in seconds, running in freezing cold snow, having amazing aim and 192928393 bullet holes in his face and torso, that’s what the NPCs see.
Dutch Van der Linde is the most interesting antagonist i've ever seen in my life. He raised Arthur and John as a sons like 15-20 years. After Hosea's death, He left them to die several times. He didn't let Arthur shot Micah. In Micah situation, he shot Micah because he respected Arthur and Arthur's last dying wish. (Protecting John) You would never guess Dutch's next move 💀
He's definitely a very interesting portrayal of a sociopath. Most depictions of sociopaths don't attempt to appear redeemable in any way. Whereas Dutch is very aware that he is a sociopath, and tried to fight against his own nature as is implied throughout both games. I would say Dutch van der Linde, Tony Soprano, and Kenny Ackerman are probably the best depicted sociopaths in media.
@@VEGA_173 It's really not quite the same. It barely has characters for most of the game. Very different, more of an older Rockstar kind of game, much more sillyness and joke characters.
I don't know if I'd say joke characters at all. I mean, yeah Seth/Irish for instance are not meant to be taken as seriously as a Hosea or Micah but they're hardly joke characters; they're written to be a reflection of John Marston or a counter to him. John Marston subtly wants to avoid responsibility for what he did by grandstanding over both for stealing and lying, but they point out that what he did, what he *does* is basically what they do; in some cases, even worse. Seth makes a salient point that John robbing from the living is arguably worse than Seth robbing from the dead, because at least the dead don't care. Id say RDR2 has more joke characters, at least in the strangers missions. In RDR1, most of the stranger's tasks served a point in communicating the themes of the game; in RDR2, a lot of them are... well, jokes. Nothing more
to this day, every time i watch the ending of the main story and epilogue, i cry. without fail. masterpiece of a game, masterpiece of an experience. honored to be able to relive that first time through vicariously through your experience
also, you sharing your experiences and why Arthur really resonates with you is extremely relatable. it's special and surreal to be able to see ourselves in a character as compelling and real as Arthur, and in a story as rich and heart-wrenching. thanks for sharing, just gotta try to be better today than we were yesterday, and better tomorrow than we are today. that's all we really can do!
thank you so much for watching! i still cant even watch this vod or clips without crying. and yes, arthur will always have such a special place in my heart, but im excited to play rdr1 and experience john’s story as well!
rikki, i found your channel through this game. i'm glad i did. i couldn't help but cry when you started talking about how you relate to arthur and your experience. i get you. i've gone through the same thing and i'm still trying to get better. life can be tough, but this world is better because you're in it. thank you for this playthrough, i will continue watching you since you're cool asf
As a person, my emotional responses work with kind of a delay. When something heavy happens in my life, i'd be sorta stoic, but then i'd cry my soul out in a random moment a week after when i'm alone. So when John proposed to Abigail, it all hit me real hard.
I’ve been binge watching these VODs recently because I can’t really ever watch Twitch streams live due to timezones and I just wanted to say I’ve loved the playthrough! It’s been very welcoming even in VOD form and I especially appreciate how open and personal this can get especially towards the end of this episode so yeah basically I just wanted to let you know to keep it up because you and your streams are great even if I can’t be there live much (if at all) lmao so I look forward to future streams and I hope you’re doing well!
I watched this whole palythrough silently 😊 I just want to say Thank You as my first comment, you are amazing and funny, this playthrough kept me so entertained for so long.
It's very easy to be bitter and find nothing good about this world, I'm guilty of that myself, getting on these tangents of not liking myself or anyone else. But playing as Arthur and John is a cathartic release and does help one see the good. It's funny how a video game of all things helped me see the positives of life. I can't stand religion at all but I love Sister Calderon the way she says things to Arthur and is a comfort to him in his time of need was one of the best things of this game. She even helped the Reverend kick the morphine and booze.
The feeling i had after finishing the epilogue , i cant explain , its just makes you think about all the things happened , you definitely should keep going with red dead 1 , maybe R* will announce pc port soon or you can always emulate it , works perfectly with controller
Hey, just saw your rdr2 vid. It's an amazing game for sure, you should play more of Rockstar Games' games, they're a great video game making company, especially Grand Theft Auto. I recommend playing GTA 4, it's an amazing game with an amazing story of the main character Niko Bellic, really captures the criminal life in New York City.
hi! thank you for watching! i actually grew up playing gta with my brother ☺️ kind of like with rdr2, he played it and let me watch sometimes. but i never watched him play through the story of rdr2, just his random bar fights 😅
"Same as you, I suppose." *SPOILERS* Dutch was literally there to kill Micah. If John had left the situation alone, he'd have never had the fate he did.
rikki you should play mafia definitive edition 2!! it’s really good game and as emotional as rdr🥺 it’s a little more like gays definitive edition but yeah!! you really should play it it reminds me so much of rock⭐️ games and available for pc users the other two games of mafia is good but boring af I just recommend the second game

I saw a quote once. "Playing as Arthur I just didnt want to play with honor. I wanted to Live with honor."
"What are you doing here, Dutch?"
"Same as you, i suppose"
Better late than never I guess. He didn't take the money either.
The end credits of this game alone is more masterful than 90% of all games out there

same! i cant remember ever crying this much over a game.
rdr1 did maybe more so

Cleet was telling the truth he really did save that little girl, you can find out about it by reading one of the newspapers 💔

i started giggling and kicking my feet
HE’S SO SWEET
You made me laugh the moment you couldn't find Arthur's hat lol, I loved it
The last mission is so cathartic for rdr1 players, John Marston was like my childhood hero growing up lol
