The guitar playing is really good but this just goes to show how most people now days "audience" have no clue whT sounds good' they only like the singing'you notice how when hes playing at guitar at first theres not a peep but as soon as he says the first word than everyone starts getting wet" just goes to show that the singer always gets all the credit no matter how great the guitar playing is but since this guy is a singer and guitar player it's a bonus for him.great playing!!
Thats because everyone sang once in their lifes so they now how dificult is to do it right, but everybody play guitar how impressive is wat he is doing.
what a killer job! As someone who used perform in my high school talent shows, etc. with a backing track playing over the PA, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to hear the backing track since there are no monitors on stage and the school's PA system speakers are in front of the stage. Awesome job staying in time and singing on pitch the entire time!!
What a great High School! I love crowd's reactions for his performance (great one by the way). So much appreciation and honesty from other teenagers really means A LOT when you're growin' up and forming your personality. I hope man you're doing great. Very nice cover.
As Drew says, it's the same as John's from WTLI in LA. Jamie is covering that version exactly. Plus this was uploaded in 2016 whereas Jamie's was just 2 years ago.
good player but a few things annoy me... mic position.... uhhhh, also i get that it's a strat and strats are jangily, but that amp is not being used to it's full potential, where are all the deep frequencies? I recognise that this is recorded on a phone but still
Hopefully he was at least a junior so he could reap the benefits his whole senior year cause girls were breaking up with their boyfriends before the song was over 👀👀👀
Plays beautiful guitar intro*
Crowd:
Sings one word*
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOO
That’s xactly what I was gonna say. It made me so mad. That’s what happens when you play for Highschool kids.
they didnt know the song until he started singing it
@Ari Neil stop
@Connor Ezequiel stop
No it was because the girls liked how he sang
Damn that off Tempo clap was everything 😍😍
Lmao painful...
Everything but pleasant
The comment I was looking for 😂
As a guitar player. Most people don't realize how hard it is to play john mayer. This dude is KING!
Especially the live versions, those are real masterpieces.
Eric clapton said it himself
John is gems
Not really and I’m 13 and been playing 2 years but I guess it’s different for others
@@michaelsguitarcovers8497 and there's the kid that will destroy your ego as an artist xD, don't take it seriously dude, but yeh, keep doing on what you're doing, cheers
“Why didn’t he join our choir?” Killed me😂😂 1:46
A very intensely high school comment 😂
😂😂😂
love how no one recognises that it's gravity until he says GRAVITY lmfao
I instantly went to the comments for this.
Pretty sure they’re cheering for his voice not because they love John Mayer.
Who’s John Mayer?
@@mikesearson6909 u better be joking bro
@@b.6.7.f.h. yeah, they're not expecting him to sing, i guess

100% agree. His guitar playing is phenomenal and these kids have no clue how hard what he’s playing is
Thats because everyone sang once in their lifes so they now how dificult is to do it right, but everybody play guitar how impressive is wat he is doing.
Or they was just being respectful and being quiet so they can hear the riff
that crowd sucks.... literally he's an amazing guitar player, y'all shoulda been cheering from the start
Follow Cole Hill for more great covers and originals!
Sadly they don’t know good guitar playing when they hear it
I love when that one girl goes "why didn't he join chorus?"
Plays an amazing intro *crowd silent*
"Gravity" *woooooooo*
My boy rocking it in loafers
Homie’s staying comfy

@@Perionian 😂😂😂
@@Perionian She said "Why didnt he try out for our musical"
Manz did what we all dreamed of😂being able to sing/play guitar and perform gravity in front of the school
his voice is a wonderland.
He feels the song and has talent....which makes this awesome.
Beautiful guitar playing
kinda sad to see the crowd not giving the guitar playing the recognition it deserves
It's a bunch of 2010's American high schoolers. They are deeeeeense.
i always find myself coming back to this because it's incredible

The crowd couldn’t find the beat if it was sitting on their face😂
Ikr
It just hurts to hear haha
Too much mayonnaise
I absolutely DESPISE when crowds try to clap along because they always ruin it. It is actually quite rude when you think about it.
Everyone wishes they wrote this song, great job.
Very well done..

Great groove my dude
Wait, the crowd only knew the song once her started singing?
Great cover!

nailed it
AMAZING
U ROCK JOHN MAYER GRAVITY!!
it’s a shame the crowd doesn’t seem to appreciate that intro and solo :(
The crowd wasn't impressed until he started singing? The guitar playing was pretty good if you ask me..
pretty good? this guy killed it
Mad guitar skills
The worst part was the audience clapping 😂 were so off the beat
The sad reality that regular people can’t recognize a 6/8 pattern.
damn so good... i wish i could play guitar like that
dayum that voice
Guitar skills 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩 I wish
You can learn the guitar skills by practice . I wish i had some singing skills
Start practicing, and you will achieve it...
Back to the future vibes
Great job bro demmmm
hahaha they all are cute
The tone would have been so better if he would have decreased the overdrive a bit.. Bit still amazing performance. 👍👌
Clap on the snare ffs lol
Great job!
That clapping at 2:45 was atrocious, great cover tho
"The clapping is from a child with special needs. He was enjoying the show :)" he replied to one of the older comments.
Numb nuts after hearing the word Gravity everyone was like Oooo yeah
Great guitar player but i just couldn't handle the tone, too much overdrive...
It wasnt it fault. There wasnt actually overdrive but the phone made it sound like it
@@Rose-kx9tw exactly
@@Rose-kx9tw it could have been both. It doesn't sound like the mic is clipping though, because his voice isn't clipping when the guitar amp is.
@@Rose-kx9tw No it was his fault. It sounded good at first and then he clicked on the overdrive pedal. You can see it happen in the video.
Yeah it’s not really good. You have to let the amp breath and you’ll see that you’ll actually get that sound that you want.
Nice cover mate
he better have won this
this song has the simplest beat and this crowd cant go with it tf
This was at a high school assembly several years ago. The child clapping is special needs. He was enjoying the show! :)
kerth welp ure cancelled bro rip

“Y dint he join our chorus”😂😂

Hey! I know this is old, but what was your pedal setup? It sounds amazing! Awesome cover btw
Looks like it's Blues Driver and Tube Screamer
Sounded bit too dirty for this song for me, but I agree that it sounded amazing.
“Why didn’t he join our chorus”
Cause real singers are able to sing alone
Pavorotti would like a word.
Awesome! Which amp is that?
Is there a way you can mute the crowd clapping. What was that?
Royden Pereira This was at a high school event several years ago. The clapping is from a child with special needs. He was enjoying the show :).
@@lwhill9 Ahh shoots! Glad he enjoyed it. 😃 I just assumed someone in the crowd didn't know when to clap to such a famous song. My bad for judging.

Wtf was that clapping
Love it!
good job man👏🏽

dude, that clapping...
I bet even the teachers want to give him straight as for the year and do him. He probably had a time limit and couldn't do the chorus
overdrive??
what guitar pedals did he use for this? I wanna learn how to play it live using my Electric guitar
boss blues driver and ibanez tube screamer
That amp has to be on 2 in a setting like that.

have you ever considered playing on Twitch ? If not you should and if you do let me know :)
