    All the anomalies I’ve heard about within the SCP Foundation and yet there are still few things more terrifying than corporate bureaucracy and Human Resources.

      Maybe I'm too cynical, but I fully expected a recommendation that his wife be terminated and his memory of her removed with selective amnestics.
      Or, maybe that would have been too straightforward and not manipulative enough.

      Never trust those that The Golden Rule applies to: He who has the gold makes the rules.
      The monsters are all from the top and the bottom. They are the monsters with all the wealth and power that it is, and the monsters they create as the justified blowback to that. Both are evil, and we are who are caught in the middle who die in larger numbers than they do in that fight.

      Most likely they were the ones who approved this tactic. If the Dr. in this tale was important for any number of reasons, secrecy, or for keeping 1 or more SCPs in check, or even saving humanity than they would want to keep him at ALL costs. Although this might not have crossed their desks at all since they weren't trying to kill him specifically. Hard to say honestly, but I wouldn't be surprised if they either were ok with all this or they didn't need to be told about this. Ethics is highly debated in the SCP Universe.

  • @sarahmeacheam7517
    @sarahmeacheam7517 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I wonder what he did that made him soo valuable to the foundation? He must've been pretty important to the foundation if they didn't want him to quit. Also u think with his wife's medical condition she wasn't able to survive carrying a child to term. I know the foundation is supposed to be cold but, this is cruel with their plans about swapping his baby with another.

  • @barstokians365
    @barstokians365 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Honestly the SCP foundation seems sadly better than many real-life corporations. Most would not work so hard to retain an employee, even a highly skilled one. I am not sure if the primary reasons are the need to retain his expertise or if it is more of an information security issue. Most corporations would not consider any one employee's expertise particularly difficult to replace, no matter how good they are. And information security, well, I'd consider amnestics or termination a first option from most places if they were available. The baby swap is the only thing I find it difficult to believe a corporation with the kind of power the Foundation wields would do, and that from an effort perspective rather than an ethical one.

    Jesus sociopathic Christ. Not only did they sneakily made him have a kid which was more than enough to keep him , but the kid was born healthy and because his mother had a congenital disease they're hiding his healthy baby, kidnapping one WITH THE Disease, hopefully actually treating it (more likely just letting it die) and then giving him back his healthy baby as if they cured it to build extra emotional debt. Like that's just unesecarry, everything they done to his knowledge already accomplished thier goal and he thinks they're the good guys but all that at least didn't cause him more harm the guy just lost his wife and now they're going to have him belibe and stress that his newborn is fighting for it's life fr the same.doseas that killed his wife just so they can give him back his healthy baby and say "look we saved him" jeeeez I'd say they did more than enough to lock him down for at least 18 years why scerw with the man's heart like that no way his work would be quality if he's worried about his baby dying I swear that whole cold not cruel thing is BS ironically they always bring it up whenever they do something really cruel.

    Wow....this is more terrifying than any other. Really I know the Foundation is not really seen as the "Good Guys" but really this is the evilest thing that I have ever heard. Even 682 would be disgusted by this, and I know it doesn't take much for 682 to hate anything, but this would likely end up having the HR department his first target. I mean, would the GOC or any of the other groups go this low to handle employees? Geez.

    • @brandonfitzgerald8831
      @brandonfitzgerald8831 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why are you shocked they have always been the villains of most of these stores?

    • @Qardo
      @Qardo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brandonfitzgerald8831 Well, I would not say they are "Villains". Though they are not the "Heroes". Rather, they are something in the middle. Doing things because shit needs to get done or, they do not want to lose talent while the world is still threatened. If they were truly a villain faction of this universe. They would not stop with just trying to contain anomalies. Rather be like either the GOC or Chaos Insurgency.
      I do not know how to put it into words. I know the Foundation are not good, but I know they aren't evil. Really, they are like a machine. There is no morality or humanity. It exists to maintain normality. It does not have feelings of compassion or regret. Thus, the story we see the Foundation being just that. They did not want to lose a valuable employee and even went so far as to replace the man's baby to keep him around. May sound heartless, but if the Foundation was heartless. They could have not valued his life or his sick wife's life and killed them both.
      Okay, maybe I did put it into words.

    I don't think the ethics committee would allow this sort of thing (if they were privy to it). Amnestics or memory alteration would be significantly easier in situations like this than sabotaging them by forcing a pregnancy then baby-swapping so he still needed the constant medical coverage. Heck, even just threatening him would be easier than all this. Just feels like so much unnecessary trouble to go through to retain someone. The foundation should be smarter than having to go to these extremes.

Not only humans but their own best employees. Don't get me wrong. I question the fact the SCP foundation has a life insurance Policy besides the policy that if you die working for the foundation as long as you don't do something against the foundation or humanity, your family will be paid for your death. Then I remember Dr. Glass mentioning Clef being in a hospital for a while recovering from injury from line of work in the Tale where Clef and Stroganoff was ordered by Dr. Glass to go on vacation. I guess something must have helped covered Dr. Clef's medical bills for the foundation's sake.
