Back here to watch one of my fave stories to celebrate 20 years of Wong Fu. This is such a special story, wonderfully written and produced by Wes and team. Thank you for Wong Fu for everything that you do to inspire us.
wow this speaks to me on some unreal level... ive always thought it's sad how easily we let go of memories and ive always wanted to be there to be like a memory catcher ahhhhhh i actually love wong fu... they manage to capture such beautiful emotions and things in general in their films and their audience can often connect so well. this is whats so special about them
Had to re-watch this. Can't believe it's already been more than a year since this was uploaded...Anyway, I know I already commented this before, but this was so beautiful. Definitely one I'll come back to throughout my lifetime.
Each time I watch one of your videos I get amazed how great and different each of videos are. Ya'll should make a movie and it doesn't has to be high budget just a natural fantastic Wong Fu Production film.
I watched this after watching Love Lock. Gotta say, was pleasantly surprise to find out that WF did a short in Cantonese. I love love love the concept of this (amazing job, Wesley!), but I thought the acting was a little awkward? It's still a lovely short though. WongFu, 加油!
If I showed this to my grandma she would probably smile. Reminds me back then when I was still little. I would walk up the stairs with her. It also reminds me of those classic movies and shows that she watches on the television
This is the film I asked one special person to watch. I wasn’t able to ask him if he did check it out before we went on our separate ways. We were a fleeting moment it seemed like this is the only memory I can hold of us. As it may be called coincidence, it even seemed like the message of this film is my parting gift for him- an aspiring filmmaker himself. Thank you, WongFu 🙏, especially Wes for this.
i knew i've seen this girl.. when she suddenly gives me this inspiration to lose weight, get better marks, and be the best that i could be... at you know, around 2am...
haha i get ya, the first sentence i was like O///O I felt like they wrote the script in eng first then translated it. And the obviously practiced canto from the guy made it more cheesy because he's trying so hard to say it right haha~
This is strangely calming..from the beautiful Cantonese, the enchanting concept of the story, Wes's brilliant filmography, and the unusually soothing soundtrack/score...WongFu, you've done it again! WF FOR LYFE!
This and "To Those Nights" are easily my 2 least favorite Wong Fu videos. It's like... all puff and no substance. There's no real message-- it's more like a "Here's a Hallmark card, enjoy!"
In To Those Nights, the message cannot be more clear, especially since the narrator said it himself. We will all find happiness at one point, and when it happens, all the troubles we got into to get there will seem worth it. It is a hopeful message!
metb235 Fair-- I think my puff comment was more applicable to this one. While there WAS a clear message in "To Those Nights," I absolutely hated the characters that Wongfu chose to feature. There were so many bad actors and even bad writing in that feature that absolutely ruined it for me.
The story of a guy finding his inspiration is actually finding his inspiration within, because the girl is a fragment of his imagination. Everybody can be inspired and by digging deep through his writer''s block, the protagonist was able to achieve it. The girl was never the inspiration, but the guy's inspiration was inside him all along. Great story Wes, keep it up!
Don't know whether you guys know this, but I just saw robynn and kendy join a china's singing competition. At first I was thinking why was the girl so familiar, then I realised. They were GREAT!!!
Theres just no words to explain a story that can be felt through music such as this, to be led through a memory with such reminiscent ambiance and the short yet sporadic details that spark thoughts into your mind - let alone this beautifully executed piece that extends the tenderness, and the mystique of it all. Just, amazing. This has to be my favorite piece overall in its entirety.
One of my favorite Wong Fu videos! Amazing concept and script Wes. The actors were believable, Kenson Lee did amazing on the effects, and the message was there. YAY
Dear Kenson I am so grateful to you for the amazing beauty you brought to this project. You took it to a whole new level. i am glad you'r part of this team!
coming back to this reminds me of how much it plays with my heart strings. The acting is a little awkward but it just moves me so when we get a glimpse of what the world is like in Wes's eyes.
This short film is so inspiring! The idea is brilliant and the way to tell the story is awesome. Love all the camera compositions and color temperature, it is so beautiful and exquisite. This will be the one of the unforgettable short film in my life now. Love how all the title and credits come out too, clean, neat and perfect.
Still watching it in 2018...it's really nostalgic and I got inspired again. And also feeling proud to speak Cantonese and being a Hong Konger! Thanks Wes :)
Every single one of your works is so breath-taking. I can see elements of Studio Ghibli in your work, such as the nature shots and the serene soundtrack. However, your own style really makes the video complete. I hope this is not the end of your directing career and only the beginning! You truly are amazing, Wes :)
That's was amazing. It is also a fine way to tributes those days when you shot One Day HKs I'm so happy you guys agave succeeded and now can work with previous actors on scripts you want. It's utterly amazing. It's not just this film but the progression you have made. After strangers again you all quickly become more and more well recognised. You inspire me.
Thanks so much for creating bilingual videos! It's great that videos like these can create meaningful discussions and start dialogues across generations to connect/reconnect. I really appreciate it. Please keep up the great work!
An incredible meaning What I took from this is that we spend so much time thinking about our destinations to stroll upon the journey. It's imperative that we take the time to think more about our purpose, where we are, and if we are where we want to be Where are we going? What is it that we're going for? These kinds of thoughts are what spur innovation and creativity. Been loving Wongfu a lot more lately. You guys are getting better and better Please never stop.
Love this video so much! It will always be in my top favorites of your videos. The music, the cinematography, the message, and generally just everything about it was beautiful! Thank you Wong Fu and friends for producing yet another provoking and stunning short film.
The fact that Hayao Miyazaki is one of your inspirations makes this short 100x better! The fact that you stepped into a new genre and accomplished it incredibly is unspeakable. I'd think Miyazaki would be proud if he saw this short :).
Thank you for expressing this in Cantonese, you had shown diverse range of visual media beyond lauguage and culture. Awesome! Can’t wait to see more. Love, love it.
I Love Wong Fu Productions because they aren't just like other people in their twenties that care about partying and all that stuff. They think deep into things, things that I can't explain that they can.
I feel like this story could be something that studio ghibli produced
Wes is so creative
Back here to watch one of my fave stories to celebrate 20 years of Wong Fu. This is such a special story, wonderfully written and produced by Wes and team. Thank you for Wong Fu for everything that you do to inspire us.
The music sounds like something from a Miyazaki movie!
The soft melody reminded me of Tomb Raider original score
when i heard them speak canto, i got so excited! i love this story!
Samey
I like the ones that aren't in english, feels better for some reason.
Doom140921 agreed 👌

Definitely, it was an "inspiration" to me :) (puns)
Almost 5 years and I still love this video as much as when I first saw it, maybe even more.
Saw this video again on a random urge and it’s still evokes the same memories as when I first saw it. Past me has good taste.
This is unique and creative. I love this one the most out of all wong fu movies
Screw the escalator I'm using the stairs now.
this one really something
somehow its sad... but so sweet at the same time...
and feels so nostalgic
feels like remembering long forgotten things...
Each time I watch one of your videos I get amazed how great and different each of videos are. Ya'll should make a movie and it doesn't has to be high budget just a natural fantastic Wong Fu Production film.
I love this. The story is so beautiful.
love this. surprised it was in canto
I watched this after watching Love Lock. Gotta say, was pleasantly surprise to find out that WF did a short in Cantonese.
I love love love the concept of this (amazing job, Wesley!), but I thought the acting was a little awkward? It's still a lovely short though. WongFu, 加油!
ERMIGAWD THE FIRST VID IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE I ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND!!! Wong fu thanks for making my Cantonese dreams come true!
If I showed this to my grandma she would probably smile.
Reminds me back then when I was still little.
I would walk up the stairs with her.
It also reminds me of those classic movies and shows that she watches on the television
we all know ted wanted the cat to be in there. xD
Its so much nicer when you understand cantonese. Its so beautifully phrased
This is the film I asked one special person to watch. I wasn’t able to ask him if he did check it out before we went on our separate ways. We were a fleeting moment it seemed like this is the only memory I can hold of us. I think Disney watched and got inspired by this video.
that.was. BEAUTIFUL
I think a short like this is long overdue. Such beautiful writing.
Brilliantly shot.
ohhhh the perks of understanding cantonese.
i love the concept of this
You always post the deepest and most dramatic videos on youtube. I learn so much from them and love them all. Thank you for posting them.
Better effects then most Kdramas I watch
Just like what this video is about, it's an inspiration. It really inspires me to also start doing short films :)
I always find that Wes' works have this beautiful innocence to it. Very creative.
OMG ROBYNN IS ON THE VOICE OF CHINA!!
i was just like, wait.... HEY, I KNOW THAT GIRL!!
This video gave me chills. Whoever scored this did a great job. And Wes, I swear you're a genius.
AMAZING!
WES IS A FKING GENE AND I STILL DONT GET THIS. This definitely profound on more than just one level
love, favorite singer at hk & awesome story telling... inspire from experiences and memories... 你好野!!!
I knew Wesley wrote this since the beginning of the video 😆
I could detect Wes's work from a split second scene! He has such a style
Yes do more in Cantonese!
Very beautiful story, amazing storytelling and cinematography. Creativity like this story is like a ripple in water, it sparks other inspirations.
The shot on that cat in the beginning
Cantonese, Chinese, I like cheese, look at these
Haha lol
i knew i've seen this girl.. when she suddenly gives me this inspiration to lose weight, get better marks, and be the best that i could be... at you know, around 2am...
Weird thing is i understand what they are saying regardless of the subtitles
Beautiful concept, and beautiful angel too. This made me cry.
the music sounds like something from a studio ghibli movie ^^
didn't need the english subs woot! canto pride XD
Finally! A Wong Fu video I can show my grandmother!! ( she barely speaks english) Thanks Wong Fu! #Cantonpride
It's so cheesy if you can understand cantonese lol
Its mandarin, not cantonese
Han Yao lol what? its canton lol
haha i get ya, the first sentence i was like O///O I felt like they wrote the script in eng first then translated it. And the obviously practiced canto from the guy made it more cheesy because he's trying so hard to say it right haha~
This doesn't have the views that deserves
This is strangely calming..from the beautiful Cantonese, the enchanting concept of the story, Wes's brilliant filmography, and the unusually soothing soundtrack/score...WongFu, you've done it again! WF FOR LYFE!
I feel like Inside Out kinda ripped this off XD
fashionfairy123 more like jewels in different paths
This and "To Those Nights" are easily my 2 least favorite Wong Fu videos. It's like... all puff and no substance. There's no real message-- it's more like a "Here's a Hallmark card, enjoy!"
Why does it have to have a message? It can't just be an idea that turned into a video? Besides, it might have a message but you just can't find it.
It's a creative video that expressed a unique perspective on inspiration. And it's open to interpretation, everyone takes what they want out of it.
In To Those Nights, the message cannot be more clear, especially since the narrator said it himself. We will all find happiness at one point, and when it happens, all the troubles we got into to get there will seem worth it. It is a hopeful message!

This is one of my favorite videos. Wesley Chan is so talented, keep this up!
Excellent work! This is very high art/message/music. Even the acting was solid!
Gorgeous... Took my breath away you are truly some if the best writers in the modern world
One of my favorite Wong Fu videos! Amazing concept and script Wes. The actors were believable, Kenson Lee did amazing on the effects, and the message was there. YAY

It's pretty awesome that you guys can make an amazing story out of old stairs. You are truly some of the best writers in film today.
This is absolutely my fave one... The plot brings some magic feeling. GOOD JOB!
This, of all Wong Fu's videos, is my favorite. Partly because I can understand Cantonese, the film seems a little more beautiful to me.
I watch this video every time I seek inspiration. It brings me to a whole other world.
Wes always has the most beautiful and deep scripts ♥
I knew Wes wrote this from the get go. He has a unique type of deep thought that I hope is never lost in this world. I enjoyed watching this.
Wow, I really like it. Great work! Also, Kenson Lee makes such beautiful melodies for these shorts, this tune is very calming, it's lovely.

I love the soundtrack for this short film!!!
Wesley is so under-appreciated as a scriptwriter and artist!
This is why I love Wong Fu. Stunning in simplicity. Thank you!
Thanks so much for creating bilingual videos! It's great that videos like these can create meaningful discussions and start dialogues across generations to connect/reconnect. I really appreciate it. Please keep up the great work!
On the days when I get lost and need help finding some inspiration and motivation, a Wong Fu video never fails me.
Definitely still one of my favorite videos for its cinematography. Great job Wes!

I find the truth of neurology far more beautiful than this video could ever be. Thanks for something nice to watch anyway.
Beautiful story... A special bravo to Wesley for writing this.
I don't know why this makes me emotional. You guys did a spectacular job.
Wow. Its so amazing! Wes is soo talented and creative. So inspiring. It does make you think, doesn't it.
very mature filming angles and cutting. even better than so-called large broadcast TV as TVB.
Good job Wesley
oh my gosh i love this. im so glad to see that wongfu is still doing these type of videos instead of just comedy sketches
This was so amazing. Please never stop making such original and deep videos. I love them
I Love Wong Fu Productions because they aren't just like other people in their twenties that care about partying and all that stuff. They think deep into things, things that I can't explain that they can.
Wes, you come up with the most interesting story lines. It sucks me in and makes me think of life more.
more cantonese shorts please :) loving the charm in these, you made HK more serene and beautiful than the way I remember it.
i really hope the soundtrack gets released! its so pretty!
