Went home got in bed held each other and cried .Shirley and Wayne were married almost 50 yrs.My husband and I stopped for a visit Wayne was able to get up come in living room for a visit? When we left I hugged Wayne & said I love you.. Truly I"m so thankful the last thing he heard from me the easiest 3 words I could say was. I LOVE YOU. ...SAY IT FORWARD ♥️🙏..
It’s very heartbreaking because this disease is so insidious and takes pieces away from the body in such a sadistic way. The person becomes a shell of what they once were and that’s not me being disrespectful it’s simply a fact. I have so much respect for everyone who has or is battling MND because they are so strong, stronger than me in my struggles which are not even as big and I’m thankful that there are those who are showing me a strength I’ve needed to be shown.
Thank you so very much. You are right about the end/beginning. When my husband took his last breath he looked up in amazement as he saw Glory through new eyes. What a treasure to have witnessed that. God is good. He walks with us through it all. Bless you.
I have been watching videos on als and what the patients and the families are going through. I can’t help thinking of my family that does not have als but are not realizing how precious life is. This is what I am taking away from these stories.
I am praying for your family. I have had one sister with ALS. And an Uncle. Its hard on family, Reltatives and friends. From what you showed, he had a Wonderful smile.
I was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) last year september. My family doctor prescribed riluzole. riluzole was unable to help me, I have tried it again for the last 2 months with the same result. I am so fortunate that my progression seems to be very slow. Heroes, not really. What choice does one have with disease? You do the best you can, you’re human, like everyone.
Why heroes? Because they’re sick? They’re very unfortunate but sooner or later we will each fight a life ending illness.
