I hate he is gone from the show. I love to hear him talk, and his character was fun and interesting. Days should do everything they can to lure him back one day.
You could tell in the last two years James hasn't put any effort into his acting. They pulled him away from everyone his character would normally interact with all for the sake of Sami. He practically became a Brady, EJ DiMera was ruined from the day the grief sex occurred, actually I take that back some great scenes were the after effects of that but then he did the 180 and we never saw him again.
He is talking about the cheating storyline. James always played it that Sami was his first choice. He has always been vocal about that. EJ never would've cheated in Sami after they were finally together properly.

EJ was always written a cheater to go and get what he wanted as a DiMera, as Sami was always written hypocritical since day one, she really greived EJ her TRUE LOVE for what a day or two until Hollywood came a knocking.

Of course he's going to say he loved it even if it was crap. In another interview he commented about everyone laughing that EJ lost his balls with that story as well. Sami emasculated EJ in his last year to where you didn't even recognize the character.
I share his opinions 100%. Elvis DiMera was my favourite on the show and as he changed from very intelligent to very dumb my interest in the show just vanished. Sad that he's gone but I honestly believe James has outgrown that show and needs to be in movies now.
I would love to share this to other fans of Ejami who won't accept James won't return to Days because in a big due to the way the writers wrote his characters affair with Abbey into the show and how it made EJ look stupid really. I for one can understand why he won't return.

Problem is James can blame the destruction of EJ and Ejami on AS she wanted Sami to go out in a major way, she also wanted a lot to choose from for her emmy reels. So she had Sami in every story line going and sabotaged all others to keep her in front and her scene's ranging from one end to the other. ED came back and was given a crap return so AS could stay the main focus the whole year and have no competition from other Day's ladies who get nominated yearly as she did not. So basically EJ in the end got run down by the Sami bus like everyone else has through the years.

Just like she was the actor helping write scripts during the acting strike few years back. And just like she was the one who told GG/LK about their story and KM about Ejabby. Only someone with inside info knows those kind of things. Corday and Day's bowed to AS and now they can blame themselves for the mess they made all for a character that left. She'll do her returns all to get her fame fix and let everyone tell her how great she is. (and if you claim she found those things out by accident I would say it's ironic that she and she alone knew those things and she always had a different schedule than others because of all her other projects) so funny how they only talked about new stories when she was on set.

He said when they change the direction of the writing, & he talked about working hard on the direction of the character & it changes. If you look at all of his old fan event clips & read what people have said that have gone to fan events & what he has mentioned in articles, he has been vocal that EJ loves Sami, & how he wanted EJAMI together, & how he tried to show that in those scene's. EJ should only show his softer side to Sami & the kids & be sweevil to everyone else. They never tried to focus on EJ's past before he came to Salem. The show wanted shock value so they had EJ do something out of character for buzz, & it backfired on them. The show chose to screw over EJ & Sami for shock value. The writer's except for Melissa had no clue how to write for EJ after JR left the show & passed away. EJ had a dark side & he could be loving to Sami & the kids & we saw it in the clips. The show chose to move away from EJ & Sami being grey character's to either completely good or completely bad.
