I had the pleasure of flying to Berlin to watch him live when touring Pure Comedy a few years ago He did magic mountain on the encore and I felt like the luckiest man alive :)
I think this is good, but i wouldnt say it was beautiful or unworldly profound. I like its space and atmosphere, but for a song so focused on this atmosphere its texture felt lacking. I will go listen to the album version
But that’s why it’s such a perfect foil to the rest of Pure Comedy in my opinion. Throughout the album, FJM uses deep and clever language to explore his lack of faith, disillusionment with society, and anger about failing to see what it all means. But in the end, he concludes that there’s nothing to “regret for a speck on a speck on a speck” and that because there is no grand meaning to everything, we can be amazed that we’re here at all and there is “nothing to fear.”
In my opinion, maybe the most profound and beautiful song from Father John Misty.
I wish he would do a special Pure Comedy performance again where it's the whole album front to back.
me too, that album means so much to me
I second this. Love this album!

Well written
Truly one of the greatest artists of the twenty first century so far. I can only imagine how far his career could go if he gained enough publicity.
2.470.831 spotify monthly listeners is enough publicity i guess 😉
7.2million now :) @@chicopanico
