Hey i want to make a server like this but only for me and my brother because we dont like the non dedicated server. And we play on the same wifi so i dont know if i need to do the port forward thing
i actually haven't tried using the mods on the app yet. i only figured this all out trying to setup a server for my friend lol. noticed there wasn't much info about it online and that's why i did the video. but i can try to re-install it all and see how it works, it was a little odd looking... also complicated... but that's why i mentioned just load up a single player game, go into mods, enable them in the single play game, load that up, then exit out, in the GUS.ini it should have the needed mods ID's and such you can copy over. to me it seems easiest that way. but unsure. not even sure if that way works as i haven't tested it. but i can try to play around with it again and see how it works. if it's odd enough i'll try to make a quick video of it.
welp, was just playing around with it. it actually seems pretty simple to add mods. go to the tab in the app called "Search Mods" then you can select a "search by:" then choose which one, leave the "search mods" field blank to look at that entire category/search by or type in a name for a specific mod you want. below you will see the mods and literally click the button "Add Mod" then it adds it. so it's pretty simple in that sense. only gotten that far with it though lol.
@@Cherrypie3 your welcome. yeah to actually download them to the server, after adding the mods, just start the server it does everything else. but if you want to change settings and such, you'll have to go to the mod pages to see what can be changed and in what file then go from there.
спасибо за видео еще раз. но так и не разобрался почему в АSA я вижу свой порт могу туда зайти со своего компьютера видимо,- по локалки, а друзья из сети его видят но подключится не могут? помогите если не затруднит.
ALL of that type of stuff will be Port forwarding related. which can also include firewalls on the router/modem/gateway and PC. if you are using a VPN AT ALL, it WILL cause issues or not work unless you know how to do that. so first make sure windows firewall has the ports added there, make sure your PC has a Static IP address, THEN in the router make sure you choose the PC's IP address you gave it along with the ports needed. sometimes both PC and Router's need to be restarted for changes to take affect. chances are, firewalls, anti-viruses, and so on will affect the connection. BUT... only one case have i come across where someone's connection that tried to connect to me, their router was basically in super strict mode and wouldn't let them connect. other wise, it's always port forwarding on the server hosted end and connection. if you only did UDP, try doing both TCP and UDP, that sometimes fixes it, also in the windows firewall section, doing both in outbound and inbound can help also. should only need one, but sometimes it actually does fix it doing both. the only other way i could help more beyond this is hopping in discord and doing a call and screensharing to try and figure it out.
Thank you very much! Very helpful.
your welcome, glad you found it helpful.
