Haven't tried anything yet 😮‍💨 tollerating the pain & hobbling along
Achilles tendon - ankle - heel
      Wearing Copper Fit ankle brace
lots of inflammation ----- not wanting to buy a shoe until I get specific orders
from physician so I get the wright kind : Worked Pipeline for many years
on my feet 14 + hours a day 7 days a week - wore work boots to work and barn working & caring for horses "lots of wear & tear" now paying for it 😤
Notice looks like ankle is giving "leaning tower of Pisa" don't know how else to describe it 🥴

Hey, doc. I really like your presentations and I have vastly improved my health overall by watching you. I'm 65 years old and had gastric bypass surgery 18 months ago, lost 170 lbs, only take 5 units of insulin currently and off all my hypertension meds. I'm walking daily 1-2 miles. I was concerned with vascular issues in my legs, but that is improving. You are a big reason for that. Keep up the great work. Much appreciated.

In one of Dr. Tom's videos, he recommended HOKA for flat feet. They have been a lifesaver. Next up will be the correcting orthodic. Thanks Dr. Tom!

Likewise! Plantar fasciitis became almost disabling in a job on my feet all day. A friend gave me a pair of Hoka shoes that were too large for her and they saved my feet and job until I got a cortisone injection 8 years ago. No problem with PF since👍 Superfeet inserts also gets a 👍

    Hi Dr.
    Enjoying your videos.
Do you have any recommendations on shoes that work well with thick orthotics?
I’ve got some foot issues and got some great custom orthotics. Problem is, they’re rather thick and take up a lot of space in my shoes.

I’ve been to a podiatrist for plantar fasciitis that has been plaguing me for months after trying minimalist style shoes. My right foot? Completely fine, my left foot that suffered an ankle sprain a couple years ago? Yeah…. Not so much.
The podiatrist just says yeah you have some tendinitis, and throws a prescription for a steroid to me and says I need 4 weeks of PT. No referral for MRI, no X-Ray, no checking my gait or like you mentioned my knees, hips, mobility.
Walk-Hero I’ve had the most success with but I saw good reviews about Power-Step too. Unfortunately there’s no way to see what height there is to the arch support or way to try on these inserts. One Walk-Hero insert I bought was far too firm and the other was just right on the side of a heel cup and supportive/corrective insert.
Your video was not only totally informational, but totally redeeming to what I would think it would mean to be a Podiatrist. I wish you were in my area so I could make an appointment with you. Sadly I’m from Florida.

Im starting to like a barefoot style shoe with an orthotic in it. The orthotic adds enough cushion for my super high arches. Cushy shoes make my toes hurt theyre trying to grip a marshmallow.

I like your explanation video, but I really do not wear walking/running shoes as I wear work shoes. I mean, I stand in work shoes like 8 to 12 hours a day, while I would maybe get the mail in sports shoes like 10 mins. So I have no use for sports/walk/running/night shoes, nor the money to waste on those occasional apparels.
Maybe a video on recent work shoes would help me more 👍
By work I mean outdoor work like shop, forest, mud, agriculture, gardening, mowing etc. Not store, office, school work ;)

Wow. I wish I was close enough to see you. I have metatarsal adductus and am miserable. I had a pacemaker installed a month ago, fell 2 days later. I’ve been to two orthopedic docs who supposedly specialize in feet to no avail. I’m 71. Double knee replacement and spine fusion at L4 &5. Walking is awful.

I feel you . I haven’t been able to walk more than 5k steps since July 2022 from a bad sprain that never healed and bursitis and Morton’s neuroma . Tendinitis and chronic tendon tearing . I’m 42 . Walking is hell for me too

Years...years...ago, I invested (very high price for me) in a pair of semi custom orthotics, a surgical steel slab made for my foot impression. It had a small, somewhat flexible portable piece at the toe end. It was like the angels were looking over me! I have NEVER had such good luck with anything else. I believe they were called Feather Springs (?) I can't sing the praises high enough. I cant find them like now, of course. In your opinion, what would come the closest to that product? Thanks SO much for any help.

When it comes to the types of shoes to put in these support orthotics, should I only be using these orthotics with shoes that are built with this support in mind?
For instance, I have the brooks glycerin 21 and brooks glycerin 21 gts (there go to support series with support built in mind.) So is it bad to put the new orthotics in the regular glycerin? Or can I us use them with both the regular and gts?
Also you say the the sole that comes with asics (like the gel nimbus series) or any of the brooks are cheap and I should always replace them right away? Or only after I wear the sole that it comes with down. Sorry for the long question, I'm just trying to get rid of this pain.

Many years ago a Podiatrist gave me very HARD 1/2 foot orthotics. Extemely uncomfortable. I couldn't wear them with socks because my foot would slip. I swear by Power Step byt they are pricey. I've always hated the gel orthotic.
