THE BEST LOADER I'VE EVER USED TO ROLL BARLEY | PAUS SWING LOADER

  • In todays video the Paus swivel loader gets tested out at rolling grain. We go up to one of our out farms where we store our grain with FATHER PHIL and Bro to roll some of our own grain so that it can be fed to the cattle. We're rolling in the shed onto the floor and then loading into a trailer to bring it home. The Paus was perfect for the job, we made great use of the swivel head and saved ourself a lot of time.
If you want to learn more about the Paus loader call Liam on 086 6079564 and he'd be happy to help.
Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe for more. Videos every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

The Paus lads must be very happy with the exposure you are able to give them, well worth a long demo and while I'm not in the way of buying one myself I'd never heard of them and someone with awkward sheds may well give them a whirl when next in motion of a change.
Credit to Bro he has really turned around his work ethic for the better from the early videos he was in and while it is hard to praise a younger sibling, you actually should give him a pat on the back.

Hi Phil, just flikin threw a cupl a vids, I see yer getin t grips with the PAUS now, yull be amazed how u did without it eh, have u thought about putting a bolt on wear blade on the bucket, we run a load of cat and volvo shovels and they all come fitted as standard so it doesn't wear the parent edge of the bucket, I realise it depends on the amount of work the machine does on concrete and the price of replacing the original cutting edge

Good machine but if you parked the mill straight in the bay where the baler is you old load from the rear. Scoop up the rolled against the wall to load trailer?
Buy a JCB 417 and do everything bar the low sheds which the old jcb does well.

  • @killian8895
    @killian8895 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Phil,
While that loader is a gift for the way your corn was set up it’s a wee bit small for your operation. You really need a 531-70. and before you say your yard is not set up for it you probably need to start modifying your yard as things will only get busier in the future. Father Phil is not going to get any younger and you have a future ahead of you where you won’t always want to be tied to the farm. Previous examples of your frustrations was pulling back the silage pit cover and the hassle to find stuff in the workshop. Simple things like that pallet where you were tipping the rolled grain are things that slow jobs down.
Personally I would have mixed the barley, oats and beans dry first into a pile, that would make more space in the shed and all could be done with the loader without the need for shovelling. Then you would have enough space to set bro or a worker up for a day and roll the whole pile and you could be away at other stuff knowing that the ration was correct and all they had to do was roll. A 3 man job could have been a one man job.
I also used to premix the ration for feeding the bulls. A half an hour with the diet feeder just mixing straights into a ration twice a week used to save a lot of time on the daily feed as when mixing the ration you can through full buckets into the feeder and not be running with bits of buckets for different ingredients.
Father Phil has a great expression waiting for the pallet of time but realistically you will need to create that time. For this I suggest buying a bigger teleporter and while that paus is a great piece of kit, for your scale and operation it is too small and in the short run it will help but working towards the future it will only prolong yourself and Livs frustrations.
On the reverse beeper just check to see if there are 3 settings on it for loudness, if not a piece of silage tape over half of it will dull it down a bit but still leave it effective.
Love watching your videos Phil for the honesty you highlight especially with your performance figures on weight gain and kill out of the stock and apologies if my comment is a bit harsh but Time in years to come with your family will be precious especially with Liv and the possibility on young children in time too.

I don’t know is there a crop that would replace it but you may be able to replace it by feeding more barley maize and beans maybe

Have a look at them pressing the seeds for oil, you could run the tractor on the oil or convert to biodiesel and feed the meal that comes out to the cattle mixed with seeds if needs be??

Make rope, cloth, paper the list goes on with the stalks, no sprays to buy.... no wonder they had it banned for so long, nothing catches carbon like it, the more you look into it, it seems a crime to ban it in the 1st place 🤔politicians would sell their granny for a brown envelope
