omg - the beerlines. Came down as a student in club rig, literally ON the beerline, but still about 50 feet up, in front of the whole club. They started chanting "beerline beerline beerline" as I came down, but I made a small adjustment and landed like 20 cm inside the "student landing zone"... was so much fun to disappoint all of them. :-D
I used to drink in high school, but with time I liked alcohol less and less, currently I don't drink at all I don't like it. I'm tired of explaining that, everyone on the drop zone when they hear that I don't drink are very surprised like it's something weird. I don't do cocaine neither, but no one is surprised by that for some reason... That's why I started saying that I'm recovering alcoholic and I can't drink, for some reason it's easier for them to understand that.
I always say - yeah i can drink but only if you are willing to clean up floor after i will vomit because my liver doesnt like alcohol- first they laugh( i smile too )but when i say that again they know its serious😇i say i can buy you one and myself a water or juice and we will be all happy.
first reserve, first injury, first become solo after AFF, first solo junmp, first major "f***up during attempted RW, just a few things that come to my mind. I´m kinda glad that they take it serious after licence, because my dropzone has no plate atm so i´ve jumped at 3 diffrent dropzones already with my instructors and still haven´t my licence.. (hopefully i got it withhin the next 2 weeks)
Its funny that in some places around the world when you are not sure if someone is 420 - all you have to do to clear situation is to show gesture like in rule#5 🤙 and if they respond to that(nod or whatever) - you both know each one is 420person😁
Hey! Currently after two tandems and getting licensed upcoming spring. CANT WAIT! I find your content very informative and clear and will use it to learn as much as possible before the spring. Thank you!!!!!!!
I really like your videos keep going 👍🏼. Could you make a video about what should anyone look for ( school programs) before getting the A license. For example I have couple skydiving schools near me one of those has the AFF program and the other one has the AST . So stuff like that.
You need to have a demo jump qualification which you can start with a D license. Check out this video about the different skydiving licenses: th-cam.com/video/UC3k1uv4F9E/w-d-xo.html
First safety day! As a new skydiver at the end they asked if this was anyone’s first time ? Me being new and an idiot I raised my hand the whole room screamed beer!!
I didn't buy anything because no body told me. Plus, the DZ's official language is French, so as an Arabic speaker, it is hard for me to know from their conversation .
Your vedios are great ....these rules are awesome ...I do military parachuting but in future I would love to do in civil as it has wider scope n growth is faster ...I request if you can upload any vedio of how much normally skydiver earns depending upon his/her qualifications as per license ....n what are different ways one can earn through skydiving
If you plan on making skydiving your job, that's a very rare thing as most jumpers are hobby jumpers. Even if you would find some full time DZ hiring, the people who they are hiring are usually highly experienced jumpers who became that why by being a hobby jumper. You can't just come in and start, military experience is completely irrelevant. Unless you're part of a professional military competition team such as the US Golden Knights you'll be totally outclassed by any regular jumper with just a couple of hundred jumps. To give you some perspective if a civil jumper does 100 jumps a year that's considered not much. Most are in the 150 to 200 jumps a year range. Regular military jumpers never get near that number on a consistent yearly basis and if they to the only thing that's done during those jumps (if actual skydive is involved and not just static) is falling flat with hardly anything other being done or practiced (there's no point in doing from a military perspective). My father was a para trooper and he managed to gather close to 1000 jumps but it took him 20 years to get there which is an average of 50 jumps a year. 50 jumps is far too less to become good at anything.
Lol I may not be a civilian sky diver yet, but in the army, your first jump outside of the school, we fill all your pockets with cherry pies and crush them in. When you land, you scrape it out, mix it in the dirt and everyone watches you eat it! 😂 ABN ATW
naww your theme was spot on - and a beer safety vid will be very short. If you jump, no beer until after last jump. If you have any beer, your jumping day is over. Only have beer in designated area during jump hours. Roaring Drunk at DZ in jumping hours (no matter if you are manifested or not or just a spectator), permanent ban.
Being pied?? Must be a French thing, never saw that being done. Yeah, about the beer thing, skydivers are drinkers...big time. A funny saying is "My drinking club has a skydive problem". Also, first times for reserve, pack job, 100 jumps, 1000 jumps yeah but where I'm from not for each 100 increment and also not for first jump on a different DZ. Btw, beer for first means buying a round for the entire club cantina, not just the friends you jump with.
Back in the 80's when I did my first jumps there was a rule that the person filming the jump stayed well away from other people. I think this was partly because back then you needed to really know what you were doing because the extra weight on your head could be lethal if your canopy opened unexpectedly or you hit or were someone while tracking. Nowadays everyone has a GoPro and this leads to more risk taking. I would like to see the spirit of the 80's come back into skydiving and see fewer cameras.

Johann Coetzee hahaha
After a few beers, I want some pie! 😊

I don't drink. I have enough fun tho, especially during the pants off dance off!
That's shuts them up
yeah, alcohol is the only drug where you need to explain to people why you DONT consume it, kinda weird...
All of these are accurate. Haha. Haven’t heard of pie-ing yet, but this was awesome
Really Braden? If it hasn't happened to you yet, let's get that done soon. It can be your.... first.

OK I think I get. it The rules always end with "you gotta pay the beer" )). On a more serious note : thanks Catherine great vids
You got the gist of it hahaha
Do not say first, say pre-second or maiden (like the maiden voyage)
I really like your videos keep going 👍🏼. Could you make a video about what should anyone look for ( school programs) before getting the A license.

awab attieh Thanks! That's a good idea. Will add it to the list!
When qualifications do I need to be able to jump onto a football field?? Thanks for the help!!

For a safety-conscientious sport like skydiving, there sure is a lot of beer involved.
First safety day! As a new skydiver at the end they asked if this was anyone’s first time ? Me being new and an idiot I raised my hand the whole room screamed beer!!
Daniel Mullen hahaha good one!
beer lines....been there, done that ;) !!!
These are all hilarious. Nice video on the culture of the hobby!
Nr. 6: Don't fart in the plane! You are welcome! 😉
Landing on the runway also means beer in my DZ...
Not important...but should do!
Good vibes on your video and we love that
Thanks!
Feel like I may end up a skydiver, and an alcoholic 😂
Haha this can happen... 😄
I didn't buy anything because no body told me. Plus, the DZ's official language is French, so as an Arabic speaker, it is hard for me to know from their conversation .
What’s up with the finger on the ceiling of the jump plane at takeoff?
I want to become a instructor for tandem jump You suggest me how to be🙂
my first time watching your video

Buy a beer specially to your rigger or whoever make your repack or on fact on your first cutaway
On ANY reserve ride the rigger gets a bottle of his choice.
one rule, have fun and dont hurt anyone else
Hey I m looking for enhancing my skill in skydivings could you pls guide me actually I have so many questions to discuss

Wow, talk about service! :D

Wtf! Nobody told me rule n3 when I landed in a field of sunflowers! By the way, it was a lovely experience! :)
Jonathan Guerra hahaha maybe it wasn't their beer line. ;)
Jump beer sleep repeat. I knew I was in the right sport.
Hahaha Exactly!
Actually a more x rated skydive acronym is EFS. Eat, f_ck, skydive. :) The essentials of life.
At my drop zone we have to pay the ( first time) beer they tip it in to the pans and everbody who has more jumps then you is allowed to slap your ass😂
Laura Brambach haha good one!
Great traditions. Now talk about beer and safety. when not to drink, why not to drink.
JD Good point. I should have included some guidelines. ;)
Next time is always fine.

What are the chances that everybody will read your commend who watched this video? We need an alcohol safety video too.
I just liked your video and it went to 100. You owe me a beer! 😂
Hahaha. ;) Where do you live?
@@SkydiveVibes sunny Phoenix Arizona (about an hour away from Skydive Around!).
@@rowdyron4111 Great!
I am from india how can i learn skydive in foreign.
Never heard of pie-ing before.
I want to jump but im scared of chute malfunction
Well hell, after watching this, apparently, I owe my dropzone a few cases of beer ... even though I don't drink anymore. :/

Je rajoute budget pour la bière a ma liste...lol
Haha bien sûre!
Beer beer beer SO MANY BEERS. WHY NOT DO A BEER TRADITION FOR EVERY 50 JUMPS
Your first canopy failure 🤣
Having first timers buy the beer is a clever pyramid scheme.
If you land off

But, why?
Hand shake? More like a fist bump.
on your 100th jump - Guys go naked and ladies at max may wear lingerie.
Johann Coetzee Yeah That's popular too. Just didn't want to do it myself. ;)
There is a Age ... I am 45 old
Rule #6 Don't go in
👍👍
😃🙂😊
I don't know any big-tine female skydivers, so imma go ahead and not watch this video
