    Your jewelry is gorgeous. Every piece! I would love to see each of your sewing projects paired with complimentary jewelry from your collection. It would be lovely to see them finishing the look. I love the way you add jewelry to historical portraits on Instagram.

    Oh that Halo necklace!!! I want it so badly. Unfortunately, I can count on zero hands the number of events I’ve been to in the last ten years that calls for that type of jewellery, so I don’t think I could justify buying it, as much as I want it.

    I have a large octagon Harlequin collet ❤🧡💛💚💙💜. I wear it all the time! Depending on the color of my outfit, I'll twist it around so the matching-color stone is in the center. I need more sparklies!

    Beautiful beautiful pieces. Truly stunning. I love the halo style you showed. I do have a question but it is unrelated to jewelry. At 15:50 you showed a portrait. My daughter saw and said I looked like me. Can you please tell us a little bit more about it? The resemblance is striking.

      Me too. I lost Granny last fall, but she had made several long needed in her twenties that I have. She was ninety four about to be ninety five when she passed.

    I am loving these videos showing off your different style options! Saving up to buy myself a parure from you someday :) Could you do a video on 'head necklaces', what time periods and styles were popular? I'd love to do one someday, but I don't know much about them!

    • @DamesalaMode
      @DamesalaMode  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm so glad you're enjoy the videos! I probably won't do one on "head necklaces" because they are such a brief fad and I really hate making them so they won't be offered in my shop hahaha, but here is a link with some info on them! They are basically only around for a little blip in the 19th century - late 1820s to very early 1840s: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferronni%C3%A8re

    Taylor, I am really digging your Burnley and Trowbridge handkerchief! My sister bought me some strands of "bamboo" coral in 4mm and 5mm on the off chance it would work for a Regency necklace. Have you heard of bamboo coral, is it any good?

    • @DamesalaMode
      @DamesalaMode  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! Bamboo coral is one of the real coral options available. Bamboo coral is a special type of coral that is naturally white so it can be dyed lots of different tones.

    My favourite is the halo necklace in green. What metal do you use for your necklaces?

  • @AlaskanCookie
    @AlaskanCookie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This was very helpful. Thank you.
    Would the “long” coral necklace work for 18th century too? Like 1770’s?

    • @DamesalaMode
      @DamesalaMode  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, Coral wasn't worn by grown women in the 18th prior to the 1790s. It was considered children's jewelry only. It isn't really worn by women until you get into the high-waisted empire styles in the 1790s. They also mostly didn't wear "long" jewelry in the 18th century. Everything was worn high on the neck and wouldn't have covered the bodice of your gown (with the exception of a few pieces of jewelry specifically designed for royalty).

    • @AlaskanCookie
      @AlaskanCookie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dames a la Mode Thank you. That helped me a lot. I’m looking for jewelry that would be good for upper middle class during the 1770’s. What would you recommend?
