    I would like to know if this is durable enough to do on the inside and outside of a brand new toilet.

    Hi, which painting looks better? Painting directly onto the tile or painting on yupo paper and heating pressing it onto the tile? Which usually looks better

      Hi! I've never tried doing tiles with yupo paper! Let me know if you test it out!

    Hi, so cute! What is the high gloss spray you use?

      Hi Monica, Our favorite is from Lowes. It's "Krylon Triple-Thick Crystal Clear High-gloss Crystal Clear Glaze Spray Paint"

    Looks like a fun project. A suggestion; for kids 7 and under (or those with special needs), you could use permanent markers on foil for the pigment, then pick up the pigment with a brush wetted with alcohol. It's a lot less messy. Just make patches of marker ink of several compatible colors on a piece of foil that has been glued to a piece of cardboard (4"x4" or so). I have played around with this and just love it! Have a piece of paper towel to clean off the brush in between colors.

      We have a timelapse video on us using sharpies and alcohol on tiles from back in 2014!

    This was a great video. Thanks! I have unglazed tiles and was told I could use alcohol ink on them as long as I put a base coat on it first. I usually drop alcohol on a glazed tile and then alcohol ink colors. Can this be done with a base coat! I’m not sure……

      Hi Christine,
      Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. (I must of missed the push notification on your comment!) What kind of base coat are you thinking of using on your tile before the inks?

      @@orangeeaselart I was just planning on using ordinary acrylic paint (Liquitex or Artist Loft). Will this not work?

    Will these inks be ok with the grouting process in making mosaics?

    • @orangeeaselart
      @orangeeaselart  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I've never grouted before! I know you'd want to be very careful not to scratch the inks. The will flake off. When we make these into coasters, we spray them with a clear coat of poly.

    Do you have to prime the tile first so the ink doesn’t peel off and

      We don't prime them but we do finish them with either a spray clear coat, or--our newest favorite--RESIN!

    Maybe you can help me and it may be a good project for your utube session. I need to color some white ceramic kitchen cabinet knobs cobalt blue. I'm hoping you can help me with my dilemma. Thank you

    I LOVE your video! Do you have a video showing how you sealed these?

    • @orangeeaselart

      Aw, thanks for watching! I don't have a video of that process but we just sprayed them with a clear spray paint (outside).

      I read you need multiple layers of regular sealing and uv and other stuff for heat resistant- do you just have one way of sealing?

    How do you prepare it to hang on wall

    • @orangeeaselart
      @orangeeaselart  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We've always used ours as coasters (just sprayed with poly and added some little felt feet). You could probably secure a sawtooth hanger on the back with some E6000 if you wanted to hang it.
