1:16:43 My Final Review, Pros and Cons
This is My TOUR, Review, Exploration, etc. of the HISTORIC and QUIRKY, Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This Hotel, I just can't say how AWESOME it is!!!! It seems to be ones of those places where people either love it or hate it, and I happened to absolutely LOVE IT!!!! This place started out as a Train Station which currently serves as the Lobby, which opened in 1908, and it served as a Train Station up until 1970. In 1973, 3 Motel style buildings were built, the Terminal Station became a lobby, and ANCIENT Pullman Train Cars, that actually were once used to Transport People, are now HOTEL ROOMS, A SHOP AND A RESTAURANT!!!! At this hotel, you can LITERALLY Stay IN A FREAKIN' TRAIN CAR!!!!! I did!!!! How cool is that!?!?!?! I got to explore it, tour it and review it in this video!!!! I also got to tour a room in the 1973 MarcArthur Hotel Building that was recently renovated. This place was originally owned by Hilton, then became independent, then became a Holiday Inn, and now is Independent again. This place got it's name from the Locomotive parked in the courtyard, which I GO INSIDE in this video, and also a 1941 song by Glenn Miller. Even though 3 Hotel Buildings were built in 1973, only 1 is still hotel rooms as the other 2 have been converted into Apartment Buildings called "Passenger Flats". I LOVE How you can stay at a TRAIN CAR here, but if you don't want to, you have a regular hotel rooms in the "newer" buildings!!!! Overall, I LOVED this place and had an absolute BLAST here!!!! This place also has Checkers, Shuffleboard, and sandboxes, fountains and fish, and the lobby and hallways make you feel like you are indeed at a train station, and the lobby has so much OLD WORLD CHARM!!!! Also, the Train Cars have LUXURIOUS Old World Decor too!!!! This place has LOTS of fun amenities, good restaurants, shops, a Guitar Museum, is VERY QUIRKY and COOL, But the Good thing is, it ONLY costs $90 to stay in a regular room, and $150 to stay in the TRAIN CAR, you get SO MUCH Luxury and Character for what you pay for!!!!! With this all being said, I HIGHLY Recommend this place, and if you are in Chattanooga, THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY AND BE!!! If you do choose to stay in a Train Car, the floor is uneven and the hallway is narrow, but, IT'S A TRAIN CAR!!! Also, the bathroom in my train car has cracked tile, and the blinds were messed up, and the windows are dirty and foggy which are really the only complaints I had. The room is SUPER DATED in Decor, but in a Charming way, and I LOVED the ARCHITECTURE!!! And a place being Dated DOESN'T Bother me as long as the place is clean, well maintained, the bed is comfy, and it's mostly spotless, which this place met all of that, aside from the cracked bathroom tiles, and overall, this was just a FUN and COOL Experience!!!! While the Regular Rooms were renovated, the carpet, beds, furniture, and paint were the only thing changed. The bathroom fixtures are still original, along with the blankets on the beds and the bathroom doors. With this being said, if places' being dated bothers you, you don't want to stay here, BUT, If you want a HISTORICAL Hotel with LOTS of Charm, funkiness, Quirkiness and character, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!! And let me tell you, this is DEFINITELY one of my most FAVORITE Hotels I've EVER Stayed at IN MY LIFE, and I will DEFINITELY Stay here again next time I come to Chattanooga as I do come to Chattanooga every 2 years usually. With that said, let's Explore, Tour and Review, this AMAZING, FUNKY, HISTORIC, Hotel, and my TRAIN CAR!!!!

Thank you so much for your tour. My husband and I stayed there during a big storm as we were traveling from Indiana to Georgia in 2015. The electricity everywhere around us was out except the welcoming site of this cool hotel. We were so grateful for a place to stay and felt it was an answer to a prayer. For some reason I was thinking of that night when we really needed a safe place to stay and decided to look it up to see if it is still there. I was happy to see that it is at least at the time of your video. Thank you again for your interesting and fun tour. I wondered if it could be the same train car. It reminded me how God provides and also gave us a such a unique experience.

The bathroom in your train car room seemed a little grungy (just as you said!) and I thought nah - I wouldn't stay there... But then you showed the sleeping area in that car!!! Omg, it was so cool! I especially love the lamps and light fixtures, as well as the furniture! Very cool!!

The Train rails, the Train Caboose and The Train Part? What on Earth is a Train Part? Wear you referring to the locomotive? I worked in the railroad for 20 years. There are a lot of train parts. The operating place in a locomotive is call the cab, short for cabin. Not a cockpit. Air planes have cockpits. Sorry I never heard your terminology. No big deal. I like it. I may have to stay at this place when go to Chattanooga.

I stayed at this place back in 2005 when it was owned by Holiday Inn. Didn't stay in any of the train cars, but they were cool looking nonetheless.

elevatorman247 Productions Which building did you stay in? And what kind of elevators did it have? Yes, this place IS AWESOME!!!

Floridian Elevators I honestly can't remember. It's been so long since I've seen it. At the time I stayed there, the building I was in had a Dover Impulse and was near the big indoor pool.

elevatorman247 Productions How many floors? Were the elevators glass? I'm assuming that the building you stayed in is likely now apartments.

Floridian Elevators Looking at it now, the building I stayed in became part of Passenger Flats.

elevatorman247 Productions Do you know which building it was? One building was 4 or 5 stories and it had glass elevators, and one building is 3 stories and you can see it in this video.

J Bush No my mom was with me. I just filmed when she wasn't in the room. As for the bathroom, you have to remember, it's a train car! It's going to be tight, and with how antiquated the room is, it will likely have maintenance issues, but it was mostly clean, and it did everything we needed.
