You're right about player skill over matchups tho. Matchups play a big factor but the cool thing about this game is that skill is a major factor as well
All tier lists do is inform players about who has more tools against certain others or more tools and abilities than others in general, how and if one can use said tools is completely up to the player.
eh, he was camping so little he forgot about side b for at least 2 games. also he went for spicy strings, reads, and edge-guards instead of just zoning, which got him punished a couple times. by samus standards, it was definitely pretty nasty. you could play samus much lamer than he did. not charging in neutral would have been disrespect and borderline throwing.

no pros are used to the little mac matchup because nobody plays little mac, I love peanut but a lot of his wins are about the gimmicky matchup
