I either press stop or hit photocells in almost every elevator i film, both with automatic doors and manual ones (where it's possible)
Counting more than 1000 intended stops between floors and i still almost never get stuck. An elevator is built to handle intended aswell as unintended stops between floors. It if can't do that without getting stuck, it's a malfunction.
I will continue to test the elevators the way i'm doing. It's also a part of the elevators features which is worth documenting. Also, getting stuck makes some popular youtube videos - and it's most certainly not gonna scare me or make me change my mind :)
Why are the buttons shaped in this way? I have never seen such a design.

it´s not a secret floor, it´s the pit. You made the lift decend to the pit :D
I think those full speed stops you did overheated the hydraulic pump or something, so it shut down.
What happened is that on one of the stops, the programming unit glitched, and it thought elevator position > 3 (V), so when he pressed the V button, the down valve on the hydraulic opened, this crashing the elevator.
Some alarm buttons require more time to make the call. 10.15 seconds is not unusual
The elevator probably tripped the final limit switch.
When he interrupt stopswitch , magnetic switch for shaft position, overrund system and jumped from 1 to 6. floor in the program unit.
When he push down V button, the lift was mislead to be in a floor bigger than 3. Open down valve and ended downwards

I believe what happened is the elevator thought it was somehow higher than the highest floor, so when you pressed the button, it released the valve without turning on the pump. It should only do that when going down, when going up it should turn on the pump. Either way, if this was true or not, it must have been a malfunction.
The lifts in ROBLOX do that lol

i think i know what happened... i think the hydraulic pole fully broke down and the lift has to use the emergency stop to not crash in the shaft

One time I got stuck in. I literally had to KICK the door halfway below the doorway in order to jump out. I ended up paying a fine and they, however, got sued.
Yes because pressing the stop button after you've stopped is clearly going to start the elevator again...
Because it clears and cancels out the previous button presses that the computer might have gotten hung-up on and returns the elevator to it's default idle command and awaits a new command for a floor.

Schindler liftman I've been stuck in 2 elevators and they were both traction NOT hydraulic. The first one was in an apartment building in between floors 2 and 3. The apartment building was 7 stories tall. I was stuck in that elevator for 5 minutes. The second one was in the empire state building this year around floor 30 for about 10 seconds

Otis lifts aren't that common in Nordic countries due to Otis being american, so most Otis lifts you see are built by generics.
