That was a great performance. They even changed the slightly misogynistic lyrics of the original and Dami wrote a whole new beginning.

Agreed! We did not realize that any of the lyrics were changed before going into the performance, but we were stoked to realize it and check them out after recording. We 🖤Dreamcatcher!

I saw a comment saying the lyrics were misogynistic. This is a narrative that was created by international fans who do not know Korean and took 1 line out of context. Till this day BB are dragged for being misogynistic bc of these lyrics so I wanted to clear this up:
Firstly they are referring to these lyrics: 남자들의 품위 여자들의 가식 which translates to “men’s dignity, women’s pretense” but if you look at the context, the lyrics are meant to be sarcastic to both men and women. The lyrics right after go “confidence for no reason” The lyrics are mocking men who try to act dignified and classy and women who try to put up pretenses. Basically it is saying there is no reason to act dignified or to put up pretenses, just let loose and let’s have fun. These are the lyrics right after “Let’s change the atmosphere, make it impossible to hide the madness”
The entire context of the song itself is about letting go of everything and having fun. “It's lawless here today”, Loosening the reins in all directions"
When Dreamcatcher changed the lyrics many Koreans were confused as to why they felt the need to do that since lyrics were meant to be sarcastic. (there are whole threads on it on Korean forums) They thought maybe Dreamcatcher had misinterpreted them? But literally, changing the men and woman lines in the lyrics doesn’t really make sense since these lines were specifically addressing typical stereotypes of Korean men and women. Stereotype of Korean men is that they try to act dignified, and the stereotype of Korean women is that put up fake pretenses so switching them doesn’t really make sense.
Rule of thumb - never take lyrics out of context - especially BB lyrics. They are master lyricists, and one should never interpret BB lyrics at face value. Their songs are rich with wordplay, sarcasm, references, and often serve as a platform to call out various things.
The “men go up, women get low” part is during the dance section of the song where they are going crazy at the club. It is literally just talking in terms of dancing so don't see a problem with that.

Thank you so much for sharing that with us! We were unaware of the specifics of the criticism of the lyrics, so we appreciate you clearing that up for us. And we agree - it's always a good rule to understand the culture and language in which a song is written, in order to truly understand it. It's one of the reasons behind our desire to learn Korean and study the culture. Thanks again!

Do you recommend any particular clips? We've done Treasure's cover twice - the first one got blocked. This was our second attempt at reacting: th-cam.com/video/Ider13AOEh8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ux4Dc3LbjSWsEl4l (Treasure "Rhythm Ta" + "Bang Bang Bang"). Is there another version you recommend? And what about IKON?

Thanks for checking their Bang Bang Bang cover out! Yea for Winter vibes, Handong's solo song Winter is probably going to be your best bet. Most of their songs are more season agnostic or darker which lends itself to spooky season.

You are quite welcome! We were super impressed with Dreamcatcher (as we always are, TBH). And we agree. There style lends itself to the spooky season of the Fall, but thank you so much for the recommendation of "Winter." We will be sure to add it to our MUST WATCH list (sooner rather than later, since it's one of their only songs that applies to this season.) 😘

all their solos are amazing (theyre all on the apocalypse save us album, each with their own special clip) highly recommend all of them as another way to get to know each member's vibe/style and vocal tone . each member had their own part in the composing and lyrics of their solos@@hallyureviewsus

They did so well. It's very hard to even come close to matching the energy of Big Bang, yet they did great.
If you want a wintery song, Handong has a solo song called "Winter" 😅

They really did! We are coming to really love Dreamcatcher, but we were not certain how this was going to go. If it wasn't obvious, we were totally impressed 😍
And thank you for the recommendation. We'll be sure to check it out!

I just thought of another a little bit wintery song. It's a cover by Sua and Siyeon called Oort Cloud. It also has a special clip.
