I'm American and seeing this huge archive of the outbreak really reminds me that we never had it as bad as the UK. We only had a few hundred cases on the East Coast. I remember being about 10 years old and I remember watching this address. Hearing Bush say that American troops would be put on British soil sent chills down my spine as a little over a week later my dad would be sent to Britain. He lived, fortunately. But for weeks, I constantly feared my dad was a zombie. Crazy times haha 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇲 Edit: After going through some recordings, i found out 50 men from Fort Bliss TX (where i lived at the time) where sent to britain. 12 never came home. One of them was my best friends dad. He was never the same after the two men told them the news. Poor guy 💔
