    The meaning to this song is to be Humble like Jesus, when he was born in lowly circumstances and served humanity with love and kindness without objection despite rejection and his cruel death. GOD is Almighty and powerful. Glory be his name. Forever.

    This was one of two solos sung at our wedding ("Household of Faith" by Steve Green, was the other). We thought the words of this song perfectly expressed our primary desire to serve eachother &, ultimately, to "serve" others who were often left unloved, never mind served!. Putting Christ at the center of our marriage has enabled it to last, so far, for 36 years. We've discovered that life is so much more exciting when a Christian couple remembers that "their" home & marriage is nothing without Christ at their centre. We were honoured to serve the "whosoever". Rather than screaming abuse at women seeking abortions, we offered them room & board (given time to think NONE aborted their children & those who couldn't keep them, we adopted). Service men & women (especially new recruits) got good, home-cooked meals, barbecues on the beach & long calls home, for reassurance from their parents. As we were 5 minutes from a teaching hospital, many folk shared our home without sometimes an hour long round-trip to their own homes. I had 4 massive strokes due to an undiagnosed blood condition in my '30's. The first when our latest adopted son was just 8 months old. I'd enjoyed worshipping the Lord in song (including some of Graham's worship songs) but, after each stroke, I was told I'd never sing again. They didn't know the Great Physician 😉. We had discipleship classes for those newly "saved" & baptised. One, specifically for young Hispanic men, was made more memorable the first night one young man attended with his brother. During the prayer time, the elder son began to sob, uncontrollably. We paused to make sure that he was okay. His reply? "I just remembered that, this time a year ago, I had an Uzi instead of a bible on my knee, as I waited with my foot on the gas pedal until my Papi returned (his father was an alcoholic, a drug user & dealer & his son was his "enforcer"). Before our wedding, we each had plans to serve abroad on the mission field. We were away from our home country for quite a few years but the Lord brought some to our door & left us to find the others. All, it goes without saying (or should) that all was done F.O.C. & we never went without as we serve Jehovah Jireh! When you "get serious" with God He takes you at your word. In our home country, where were are, at present, we've been stoned in the streets & hosed down with cold water on the coldest of winter days, for sharing the gospel. Going to church was not a casual pew-warmer affair either. Gunmen entered many churches that weren't of their faith & opened fire. In a tiny church up on a dark hill one Lord's Day evening, the men were shot as they welcomed the gunmen inside & the women were shot as they tried to shield the children with their own bodies. When you, "get serious" with God, He takes you at your word but, take it from us, life is NEVER dull 😊!

    Graham Kendrick turns out the sickliest cliches and expects us to believe in them as gospel.

  • @rhodiusscrolls3080
    @rhodiusscrolls3080 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've heard of the Suffering Servant the Servant Nation and the Master and Servant but never of this Servant King. Kendricks array of cliches are quite sloppily presented and the voices on this recording are embarrassing trying to sing about them as if they are deep and profound . In one case they misportray the preincarnate Christ as in possession of hands. So where did the helpless Babe come from ? Its almost as confused a song as Brother Sister Let Me Serve and I refuse to engage its mistakes any further.

    This song does not worship the Lord of the Bible. It tells of another Jesus and preaches another gospel from an angel in heaven. In the words of St Paul let them be accursed and let hymns return to the Biblical understanding of who Jesus is instead of the dangerous cliches unmelodically set forth by a man from the fringes of orthodox Christianity.
