John Daly is best remembered as host of "What's My Line?" during its prime time run on CBS from 1950 to 1967.

Note her use (as well as John Daly) of the fake accent called the Mid-Atlantic Accent. It was taught in universities and by Hollywood voice coaches and was intended to sound more sophisticated and intelligent. It was created as a way of removing regional accents for people in the public eye. Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant were famous for its use. She was born in England and her accent could be considered English by some. John Daly was born in South Africa. Mid-Atlantic Accent was a combination of American and English accents and adopted by people on both sides of the Atlantic (hence the name).

I love live TV from the 50s. Great to see a fresh new episode of It's News to Me for the first time since the spring of 1953. My mom was in 6th Grade growing up in The Bronx and my dad was 14 years old growing up in South Amboy, New Jersey. Thank you for posting!

My goodness. This must be incredibly rare. Thank you. Mickey Mantle is so charming. No wonder he was such an idol, in addition to his baseball exploits. However, hey have the panelists practically sitting in each other's laps? Why?
