As a long time fan of Rush over 45 years I really love and admire Geddy. I knew back in the 80s he was a huge baseball fan often asked to sing the National Anthem at baseball games back then. He did an interview with Dan Rather awhile back where he talked and gave Rather the grand tour of his collection. Quite impressive indeed. Now he's giving back to the game that gave him so much joy by parting with some of his collectibles. That can't be easy, because I know parting with some of my stuff would be terribly hard, but there's a time where you need to move on when it feels right. Very happy to hear he wants to write songs again. Looking forward to some new fresh music from this man. Thanks Geddy for being the great person you always have been to your fans.

Geddy was the first bass player I heard who played 'outside the box' at the time I was a teenager and getting into music, that's what spurred me on to learn the instrument. I learned all of Moving Pictures and most of his previous/later works as well to learn the bass and I've never looked back, continuing to play live and record to this day. So Geddy, thank you, for teaching me how to play this beautiful instrument, for being so humble in your talents, and for being an incredible human & gentleman. I look forward to reading "My Effin Life" very soon. Take care, and thank you.

Great interview, Dan. Those three guys are just fantastic, musically and as people. One of my favorite TH-cam videos is the three of them sitting around having dinner ahd drinking wine.

Growing up in Detroit Al Kaline was my favorite as well. That was a surprise, pleasantly so, that we share the same player as our favorite.

I remember a radio interview with Rush ("The Source," Bill "The B Man" Bonascevicz) when GUP was released. Early June. Geddy said, "I think Detroit is going to win the World Series, this year. That's a pretty bold statement, I know." Sure enough, they did win.
As an aside, I'm noticing all the police patches on Dan's desk. My late father was a big-time collector of police patches in the late 80's to early 00s. Over a thousand of them. After he passed, my mother sold them, but she kept his favorite, which is from Cairo, NY. As the story goes, it's very rare, so my Dad took a ride up from Long Island to try to buy one. He was willing to go as high as $500. Early 90s, I think. The officer at the tiny precinct said, "The only way you're gonna get one of these patches is if you dig up the last cop who was buried." Dad took out the $500 cash, and the cop gave him his. Mom's gone, so now I own it.

Man for those times right now. My friends were all surprised when i turned 65 in October and said in highschool we thought you'd be dead at 20!!! Lol, F ya boy's!
