Looks like they moved the door opening to the right by quite a bit. At the start of the video, that sprinkler had was closer to center and the amount of wall to the left of the door was much less. I think that's where the header went.
When is the shop renovation happening? Did the city renege on the grant money? Or there was talk of a new building renovation series, any updates on that?
Welcome to the world of high end clients and the nerve wracking experience of installations and knowing if you damage the one of a kind object you've made, you're doing it all again from the beginning, feeling like your an idiot! Well done
Nice doors. The black on black might have been a great looking door, but I think combined with the dark grey walls would have left the space lacking in contrast. Can't imagine spending $16k on a door, no matter how beautiful. It's a cost I could cover if it was a priority, but I just get fixated on the other things that could buy instead.
The finished product looks great although I would have liked to see that black on black combo. I think that would have really been nice, especially considering the color on the walls.
It would be nerve racking to work with $6000 pieces of wood. I bet you measured more than twice. :) Also, I appreciate the extra effort on the sponsored part of the video. Maybe this will be your big break for your acting career.
I add 10% to the cost if i have to deal with interior designers because they're such a pain in the ass. Unbelievable time sinks that change their minds every 5 minutes and add so much extra stress to the job. If i can, I like to deal directly with the client. That way, they actually get what they want instead of what the interior designer wants.
Not a fan of that stopper. Why not just end the channel, keeping the original wood in place, then chisel it square? That stopper sticks out like a sore thumb
Congrats on your first commission! It looks fantastic. Would love a shot with the sun coming through it if the client ever wants to share that.

Mike, could you expand on what the value of doing 1 large pour is when they get cut back down anyway? I don't really understand.
Doors look great!Couldn’t see the translucency, though.
what a beauty
Neat, I use those same handles on my pocket doors... And yes, screwing them in REALLY sucked.
You already passed the inspection, are you going to do something with the old elevator?
Stunning!

That amber epoxy looks terrible, way too orange.
