Just a rules point, regardless of any weapon/armor/situational modifiers, rolling a natural 1 is always an auto fail for both attack and defense rolls. Also, I love all of your current dungeon adventures, 4AD, 2d6, and d100! 😀
Fighter would have killed the ogre with that roll of 2 even with just a +2 modifier. The ogre was originally level 5, but you brought it down to level 4 when you brought it down to half it's health.

Wizard should have taken the last two hit points with it's level 9 fireball also
