We're a group of friends who are studying in Korea. We would like to record our journey together in Korea through this channel. This is our first MV reaction, and it's from Vietnam.

I find foreigners always find it surprising how Vietnamese history was so Chinese influenced. Our traditional clothings are very similar to Hanfu just like Korean Hanbok and Japanese Kimono. No we didn’t choose to be controlled by the Chinese for 1000 years but that was history and it shaped Vietnamese culture.

I think that MV is popular all over the world. I am from UK and my professor suggested this to me. Not because it is important for our course but just because the set design impressed him. And why wouldn’t he be impressed. Saw it for the first time and couldn’t breathe.

Trang phục nam của Việt Nam và Trung Quốc thời đó khá giống nhau nha bạn, nhưng trang phục nữ thì có phần khác là Việt Nam có phần quyến rũ hơn có nét gì đó giống ao dài Việt Nam bây giờ, còn trang phục nữ Hàn Quốc thời đó thì xấu hoàn toàn không giống như trong phim bây giờ chiếu đâu

cơ bản là VN minh bị đô hộ 1000 năm đến giờ vẫn chịu ảnh hưởng phong tục tập quán của TQ thì phải chịu thôi
Đúng , văn hóa hàn quốc với nhật bản cũng là từ trung quốc ra thôi, hàn thì thời nhà minh, nhật thì thời nhà đường , do quảng bá văn hóa rất tốt nên ko ai nói hàn quốc với nhật bản giống trung quốc hết, có khi trung quốc còn giống hai nước kia, vn mình chưa có đủ tiềm lực kinh tế thôi, phải chấp nhận đứng sau cái bóng văn hóa của nước khác ,chứ thời phong kiến Đại Việt chưa từng thua một ai, lúc đó cao ly (nam bắc triều tiên) còn phải kêu Đại Việt bằng cụ ấy
Nhưng bạn có thể nói ra sự khác biệt trong trang phục giữa Việt Nam trong video này và TQ, HQ không? Nếu không thì cũng khó trách họ.

1. Why did he pick up the right lotus: because it is the most beautiful lotus in the pond (it is shining)
2. If you find the way of taking the white lotus looks like fishing, did you watch Chinese martial dramas? Lol they fly like birds which never happens in real life. Also the magic in this MV is just fantasial.
Fun fact, the white hair guy is the director of the MV. There was a 2nd part of this MV. Pls check it out!
I really love ❤️ the Vietnamese traditional,cultural MV. So definitely amazingly beautiful. Nevertheless, Especially the part , love spell, magically happened majestically !👍😎
The costumes in this video are supposed to be fantasy. It combines a lot of features from Vietnam (the women are wearing ao yem), Chinese, Korean (the guys are wearing headbands that are a little similar to Korean), Japanese (the 2 men with masks wear a hat that is quite similar to the Japanese Heian period's hat), they even made up other things that are not belong to any of those countries. This is not a documentary or historic based music video, but they tried hard to put in a lot of Vietnamese traditional features the costumes and scenery. Of course in reality our costumes and culture are similar to Chinese, like Japan and Korea they also influenced by the Chinese culture a lot (like the musical instrument dan tranh-guzheng-koto-kayagum). However, They look similar in general but they all have different details and features. The Vietnamese girl in this video might not understand much about Vietnamese culture so she didn't explain to you guys, but I don't want foreigners to misunderstand about our culture.

Mấy cái đó dạng MV bình thường, chỉ chú trọng phần nhạc, không có đầu tư nội dung là một câu chuyện hoàn chỉnh. Mình thấy mấy bạn đề nghị nó mà mình cũng tức :)))
The King, the Queen and the white hair guy.
The Queen does not love the King. The Queen loves the white hair guy and so does the guy.
The King senses that his Queen betraying him so the King sneaked in to the place where the Queen and the guy were dating at.
The guy pretended to be a kidnapper wearing black mask to kidnap the Queen in order to escape, but the King did not hesistate to shoot him.
The Queen was afraid that the King would see her lover's face so she decided to burn the guy after he was shot by the King.
After that, the Queen did magic to revive the guy in the form of a white lotus in the palace's lake with the curse that the guy would fall in love with the first person when he was waken up from the magic lotus.
The King, meanwhile, feels that the Queen does not love him. He feels lonely. He gets on a boat to visit the lake at midnight to release his inner loneliness and he saw a shining lotus and accidentally awakes the guy.
Because the King is the first person the guy saw after reviving, he falls in love with the King. Due to magic, he forgot his past life with the Queen.
With the love of the guy, the King feels warm and loves him too.
The rest story, you may know already. The Queen feels jealous because her lover does not recognize her and falling in love with another person. She decides to let the guy know everything from the half of the necklace they both keep.
Knowing the truth, The guy feels misery bc he already loves the King but he still does not want the King to harm the Queen. So he protected the Queen from the King. But bc he truly loves the King, he protected the King from the Queen as well.
In this story, no one is happy.
First of all, that Vietnamese girl didn't know the historical culture of her own country well. "Chinese clothes" - what the hell? If so then call the Korean hanbok and Japanese kimono "Chinese clothes" too. Vietnam was colonized by China in ancient time, and after independence, we had already been influenced by their culture, so obviously there was similarities, but any Vietnamese should recognize the clothes there were obviously Vietnamese (ao dai of the musicians, head band of the Queen, ao yem of the dancers, and ao tu than of the Queen) and the dancers were dancing TRADITIONAL VIETNAMESE DANCE. Girl, you should recognize that dance if you ever watched any boring folk dance of our TV when growing up in Vietnam??? Please educate yourself before spreading false information to foreigners. Second of all, Vietnamese in the past did wear "sexy" clothes that expose the back, it's called "áo yếm", because Vietnam is a tropical country where it's hot, not Chinese nor Muslim. China actually stole a lot of Vietnamese culture and claim it theirs (our lunar calendar, our dan tranh, and a lot more). Thirdly, in the story, the king picked that particular flower because it was GLOWING, did you even watch it? He didn't just pick random stuff in the pond.
"He is dead." "Nooo,he is a mysterious creature." You guys are so funny. hahaha

Everyone is attracted to the content and images of the mv but I hope you can find and listen to the lyris of the song n the voice of Nguyen Tran Trung Quan (singer) will not make you disappointed. There is a part 2 called Canh Ba. Same actor Nguyen Tran Trung Quan who plays the King and is the singer. The White Lotus Actor Denis Dang he is( also the Creative Director of all the MV's and Screenwriter) also in part 2. They have worked on another MV but I dont know if it will be part 3 or the same actors in a different scenario. BTW they are Vietnamese.
