Great advice on not trying to change anyone's method. Beekeeping is definitely a personal journey in your location. I subscribed. Good health and God bless
in Mizoram(India) we dont need to controll mite( no problem with mite), because Apis Cerena Indica has brood break(two to four times in a year) during dirt period, mite can't devlop without brood. but wax moth is a big problem during brood break.
Good explanations of mite control. I used it one time two years ago, pulled it out the second day the pads were on and threw the rest of the pads away - not a fan of Formic Pro. Now as a more seasoned beek I may use it someday but I might try Api gaurd first. Quick question - have you lost any queens from Formic Pro?
Never lost a queen. I think sometimes, the fumes disrupt the pheromones of the queen. The bees think they are queenless and then make emergency cells. I have had that happen. When it did/does, i confirm a laying queen and destroy all e-cells.
@@lou8891 that is all personal preference. I use the 2 strip 14 day method. I have done the 1 strip for 10 and repeat for nucs and weaker hives that i havent gotten around to combining.

I have a video on how I deal with wax moths too. Check it out if you'd like.

@@lakeviewapiary so if useing formic pro better to use one strip for ten days then add the 2nd rather then useing both the same time
