In a nutshell, from our experiences, graduating with latin honors doesn't really matter in the real world. You can share your thoughts guys!
Hello. May grade kasi ako na below 85 ngayong first year ko huhu. And napapraning ako sa 4th year! hahaha. Thank you po
I admire na parang super humble ninyo. Given na graduate kayo ng UP with latin honors pero napakasimple ninyo magexplain without any yabang or bragging #sanaall 😃
True, being a graduate from university and or having a latin Honor, di talaga sya nagmamatter sa real world, thank you sa pagiging humble niyong dalawa, God bless and always take care.
My 2nd Year College was my lowest point in life.
I'd like to add po na this online setting enabled students to cheat easily, therefore getting grades that do not necessarily reflect what they know and have learned during lessons. Because of this, I do not think Latin honors will matter that much since given naman na alam ng maraming tao how easy it is to cheat in this setting. I am not saying na everyone does it, but a lot are doing so.
taking up Mechanical Engg at UPDiliman, I was able to graduate cum laude, but became sure of this only on my last semester. It was just initially a personal goal and achievement. But what I found out while searching for a job was that those two italicized words singled you out and put you near or at the top of the heap of applicants. This is because graduating from UP already distinguishes you from other applicants, and latin honors further distinguish you from the rest. It opened many doors for me, including being accepted in a very prestigious university in the US. So I say, go for it. But like someone said, don't let your schooling get in the way of your education.
Ask lang po. Need po bang nasa prestige university para ma-qualify sa application sa any prestigious universities in US? Or kahit Latin Honor is enough na po? TIA po.
@@francesnatashachay6895 apologies - i've seen your question only now ... I don't know about the admissions polices of most universities in the US, but I believe it helps that you came from a university that is known or recognized internationally - not necessarily globally, but at least among more localized regions, e.g., SouthEast Asia. This should not discourage anyone, and I dare anyone to be a counterexample to this, and to go for your dreams ...

for DaveGuino, you say that you are not "masipag". You should not take that too negatively, but instead channel "laziness" into believing that there is a better way of doing things. You should use that to challenge the status quo, the current way of doing things, but only after you find a better way. This type of thinking is what we need in the real world, where we try to solve real problems.
I couldn't forgive myself for two years in college since I wasn't performing as well as I should've and wasn't in the university people thought that I would go, but I guess there's still hope for me. Medyo makakahinga na po ako ng maluwag. Salamat po.
